Album Review of the Week: Caroline Dare - Wavelength (2023)☆☆☆

I came across Caroline Dare on one of those "I will send you a free CD" ads on Instagram. While I wish this was a little more upbeat, there is definitely a lot of potential here and I can't wait to see how her sound evolves!

Her voice is gorgeous and the lyricism is heartfelt, honest and relatable.

I especially enjoy the lilting melody on the first and title track, Wavelength.

Kid Again is another standout, a standard guitar ballad but the lyrics are so relatable.

If You Wanted To You Would has a really interesting sultry melody and instrumental. Definitely the most interesting track! It absolutely nails the vibe it is going for. It seems like she is taunting an ex, like you can't have this anymore but I am going to make you want it.

Overall, this particular release is not too exciting. She released another album later in 2023 that has a couple of bops and sporadically released a few singles this year. There is definitely artistic growth happening so this is an artist to watch!
