#authorlifemonth Day 19: Critique Partners. I feel very fortunate to get feedback from so many talented #YAlit and #kidlit writers, including Lena Coakley, Sarah Jude, Carolyn Beck, Erin L Thomas, Karen Krossing, Nelsa Roberto, Anna Kerz, and many others, most of whom (pictured here) have seen at least one draft of the manuscript I'm working on now. I hope to keep getting feedback from them and expanding who I work with. Writing feedback is so very important and can be incredibly valuable! And for at least 10 years I attended a fantastic children's writing critique group led by editor Peter Carver at Toronto children's bookstore Manel's Fables, as well as ones by yalit writer Kathy Stinson and mg writer Barbara Greenwood, all of whom believed in me and helped me keep going before I was published.
