A heartfelt RIP for #AmbassadorJosephWilson, whose very good book The Politics of Truth I edited and published with in 2004. On his long-running book tour, he gave many public talks—especially on campuses—espousing a progressive patriotism that was a counterweight to the jingoism of his critics. Audiences found these talks very inspiring. He extolled having a career in the foreign service and spoke w/relish and pinpoint memories of countries he worked in. I heard from Joe this summer. He told me he was terminally ill, and said how proud of the 2004 book he remained.
