A friend and i decided to have weekly challenges, first challenge was being a vegetarian and we completed it. Hard part wasn't resisting to eat meat (as some friends expected) it was finding something to eat when we weren't at home (you know Turkey is place of kebabs, meatballs etc.). You can order soup, salad or pasta, but sometimes it was hard to find something at university cafeteria (one day i just ate plain pilaf for lunch). Actually there are delicious vegetarian dishes in Turkish cuisine, but you cant find them in every restaurant. Anyways i felt like i am eating healthy and not eating dessert for a week would be much harder. Upcoming weekly challenges can be: running every evening, not using sugar in tea/coffee, cycling everyday, not consuming packaged food etc, do you have any suggestions?
p.s. carrots arent sold with their green stalk in Turkey, so when i see carrots like those in the photo at the bazaars abroad i feel they are cartoon carrots:p
This blog is mainly a distraction from homework. I find things I think are interesting, and talk about them, post links or pics, and look for inspiration. On this essay attributed trip, I found this kickstarter project. It's a set of wrapping papers which can be planted into the ground after being pulled off a gift, and will grow whichever veggie is printed on the paper.
