           Elliot and Carter stood over the open hood of his car. One was clean, one was dirty, and then there was a piece of shit car that was probably going to be put to rest soon. Honestly, it was a miracle the thing has last as long as it has, and bless Carter’s soul for putting his heart and soul into this turd on wheels. Elliot places his hands on his hips and sighs.  Why does he even bother?    “ Good question, Mr. Mechanic Man. Why don’t I just buy a horse and wagon at this point? I’m sure it’s more cost effective than bringing this thing in every other week. “   A hand slaps his shoulder in what is his attempt at a comforting motion.   “ You did your best, and that’s all I ask. I’ll just keep driving it until it blows up. That way my mama can get some good insurance money and I will finally be released from this hell of my car. “ 

He took a step back and got another look at his car.   “ Do people tip mechanics ?   Probably not. But I mean, thank you, really. You have graced my car with your touch and while I think the devil is in her and she can’t be saved, you tried your hardest. “   He hated this car, but he was thankful for his best efforts.   “ I will invite you to the funeral. “
