I have finally had word directly from the promoter that HRH Psych 2023 has been cancelled.

I had hoped not to have to do this, but I think I need to say something publicly about HRH Psych at this point.
My band was booked for the event quite some time ago, before I knew about all the issues bands and fans have been having with the promoter. I was really looking forward to it for a few reasons! It would be great to get to play for a different audience so far outside my normal stomping grounds, and there was also the added appeal of developing a relationship with a promoter that puts on many different festivals all over the country.
Well, it’s looking like it isn’t to be.
Last year I was made aware of the fact that many bands who have already played their events have not yet been paid. Although I know that a lot of entertainment-focused businesses have really been struggling due to the pandemic, the way that Chic Festivals (the promoter) was reportedly handling the situation was not on. Then there are all the event cancellations, for which ticket holders were never refunded. I get that a company could be having a really difficult time right now, and I decided at the time to wait and see, in hopes that things would be sorted out and all would be well.
That hasn’t happened.
And to make things even weirder, someone alerted me to the fact that the promoter’s website is advertising two different events for the same venue on the same weekend! Which doesn’t inspire confidence that HRH Psych is even going to happen.
Worse still, I’ve tried several times to contact the person who booked my band for the event to get some clarification of what was going on, and he is now completely ignoring all communications from me. No response whatsoever.
So, I can’t get clarification, and I can’t even ask to be removed from the bill, because I can’t contact them!
(Update: Since I originally posted this to my Facebook fan group, I’ve been given a lead on a different email address which might actually get a response, so I’m going to give that a go…will let you all know what happens.)
That’s why I took the event off my website a while ago. I just wanted to let my fans know that I’m not sure what the situation is with this event, but the promoter has reportedly been acting very shady over the last couple years, and now they won’t reply to my emails and texts. So, until further notice from me, please DO NOT buy tickets.
