"CASA LAMBRETTA : MAKING THE DIFFERENCE! Well then peeps, are you ready? Casa Lambretta has been working alongside BRG and Parmakit to produce a completely all-new 305cc Lambretta engine. After being seen exclusively for the first time in Sticky’s monthly news column in ‘Scootering Magazine’. these are a few more ‘taster’ pics of the engine in it’s prototype stage. The basic characteristics are ; Engine casing fully machined from billet, the crankcase area can be opened up around the crankshaft (as per normal bike engines) to allow both ease of access and to allow people to modify the engine internally with ease. All the parts / measurements are very large to house a big crankshaft, crankcase reedvalve induction in the centre of the crankcase, directly to the crank with the possibility to close this off to allow the use of normal cylinder induction (or possibly to have both i.e. twin induction), the engine mount retaining section can be removed / moved to allow you to change the scooters wheelbase, the gearbox area is 10cm bigger to allow the use of an over-sized clutch, the barrel mounting base is completely smooth to allow the use of any cylinder, possibility to fit a special 305cc top end with 50CV as standard (this can be raised to 55/60CV).
A normal standard Innocenti gearbox can be fitted to the casing if so desired. The versions available from June 2014 ; 1. Casing with special 58mm stroke crank (ready assembled) with crankcase suited for a 200cc Lambretta barrel 2. Casing with special 64mm crank and special 305cc top-end (minimum of 50CV), with possibility to choose 55/60CV) 3. Casing & a crank fitted with a con-rod of the customer’s choice of stroke and the barrel mounting area left untouched so the customer can tune / use a barrel as he / she desires 4. From 2015, a complete engine ready assembled with a capacity of 305cc, dedicated 5 speed gearbox, cog transmission and pre-select bike type gearchange.
The whole unit – front to back – has been designed so that it should be plug and play in a normal Lambretta frame. As soon as the first prototype engine is ready Rimini Lambretta Centre will get one to play with and we’ll keep us all posted on the progress of this amazing project."
