A good knife

In 1979, shortly after Sharon and I moved into our first house, in Lansing’s Colonial Village neighborhood, I went shopping for a hunting knife. An elderly clerk at Logan Square Hardware (long departed) talked me out of buying an inferior one

He steered me toward this much more expensive Case, promising me that I would thank him some day.

Nearly 40 years later I still use this knife regularly. Although I now own several knives (all Case brand), this one is all I really need to field dress, skin and quarter deer

The true test of a knife is how well it holds it holds an edge - how long it stays sharp after each sharpening - and this one is unparalleled in that regard.
