I just really really love how he dies to protect Pied Piper, like regardless of how you're reading his relationship with him at this point, he just fuckin' sacrifices himself for another person. Selflessly. And after Geoff Johns was annoying as hell and tried to retcon OUT his 20 year long completely in character redemption arc, and Dan Didio was actively planning on wrecking his character during Countdown, I do think it was funny how the writers were like "actually we think he should die protecting another person instead" and then they just did that when no one was paying attention (confirmed by Didio in an interview). Thank you the writers you tried your best, it's how James Jesse would have wanted to go out (pissing off DC editorial).

Well uh, this is Countdown so uhhhhh… what I would do is very quickly scroll through the panels until it says The Rogues or Piper and Trickster. This is the only bearable way to consume Countdown.
