Okay so Jordan is the OC most closely based on me, so they rely very strongly on their brain - they're Watchful and Persuasive, both skills which require more mental than physical effort, right?

They also share some of my neuroses, including having a deep and paralysing fear of losing their mind; for someone who relies so heavily on what they know is true, the idea of being unable to trust your senses is one of the most terrifying things there is

Given all of that, this particular storyline is hitting just a little closer to home than I'm comfortable with (in a very good and creepy way!)

Jordan: okay look imma be real with you they have no idea what you're trying to do, like oh you planned a quiet trip just for the two of you? well too bad, they’ve invited their brother and their husband and their wife along with them, this is a group outing now and you're not allowed to leave (well, you are, but it'll make them really sad, and you don't want to make them sad, right?); also sometimes they'll really hurt your feelings by saying something super insensitive or ditching you for three months to do Science™ and they'll never notice or apologise but they will just show up at your door/window/skylight/basement hatch with a super cool and interesting (to them) thing they just found/built/created like a weirdly persistent corvid

Robin: this man is so short and so full of rage at everything and anyone, he'll tell you that it's because life is unfair and he just wants to protect and help people (and he's not even lying) but he would fight capital-G God for a watered-down bottle of Greyfields 1879; half of the time you spend together will be a combination of bloody bar fights and tracking some horrible creature through a muddy field, and the other half he will ditch you because he got cocky and restless and ended up on the slow boat or back in New Newgate; however he is great with kids and animals (especially ones that are injured or abandoned) and he really really loves his mum so he’s got that going for him

Aurora: look at me. look at me. you Cannot be in any kind of situationship with Aurora if you have any concept of monogamy or restraint. their first goal in life is finding brand new pleasures and thrills and they have absolutely no concept of appropriate behaviour, she’s constantly making scandals but everyone likes her so much that they just ignore the fact that she spends so much time exiled to the tomb-colonies that she practically has a room with her name on the door; they were born shortly after the Fall and have lived in the Neath their entire life so they’re obsessed with anything anyone can tell them about the sun (ethesunthesunthesunthesunth) and she’s delighted with anything a friend or lover can bring from the Surface that she hasn’t had before

Saskia: I don't even know how you'd manage this tbh; Saskia doesn't really do relationships unless they benefit her far more than the other party involved, her sole consideration is if you can help her get what she wants and if you ever can't she'll frame you for a crime rather than just breaking it off or trying to stab you like a normal person; her childhood is a sore spot and you’ll never see her hands or throat uncovered, but if you can somehow stick with her long enough for her to actually trust you a little bit she might let you keep some of the fancy jewels and forbidden knowledge that she steals from those she deems undeserving (meaning anybody who has security she can get past)
