The shortest answer I can give is that I see a reflection of my past self in him as well as being able to relate to him in some senses currently [Dead Parent Bc Of Disease Club WOO!]. I can clearly see where he came from, how he got to where he is, and what he *actually* wants for himself. He deserves to be happy and be better, as well as own up for his actions to move forward.
Also his 2nd scene is him being a pathetic wet rag screaming in fear at Marco (who was standing still) before hiding behind someone. I love when a man is a pathetic wet rag <3
