It had only been around an hour since Alex and Cass had gotten stuck in the Interstate Drafthouse, and Alex was already more than ready to leave. Not only was he worried about the horses, it was becoming obvious that something was up. Alex tried not to pry too much into Cass’s life unless it was something he felt he needed to know (and in the case that she was as upset as she was about Cassidy), and he felt like he was out of the loop. Since, of course, everyone seemed to know each other in the bar except for him. The delights of being in a new area, he supposed. Cass had spoken to several people, too friendly for them to be strangers, and there was too many feelings in the air for everyone to be all best friends with no problems. He didn’t want to force Cass to tell him more about whatever was going on, but he really didn’t want to be stuck with all these people for hours when he didn’t know what the hell was happening. He had stuck with Cass for the night so far, but he still had to wait for a time when she was no longer talking to anyone. Now alone, he turned to her and gave her a small smile, despite knowing that she likely wouldn’t like his question. “Hey. Listen, I hate to ask this, really. But what the hell is going on? I know Cassidy is here, so I got that part, but there’s clearly not everything. I don’t want to get all up in your business or anything, but just a little more information might help,” Alex explained, trying to keep things are simple as possible despite all the questions running through his head.
