she looked the same--she always did every time he saw her. but it’d been a long six months since he’d been back here, and they didn’t exactly leave off on good terms. he set his guitar to the side of the stage and prepared for the worst. yet there was a different fire he felt simmering in the background. no matter how far and long he pushed her away, there was always that urge to pull her back and in. his lips parted and his tongue soaked them as if to prepare for a taste he dare not take.
he’d drink her in and deep. he’d reach down and claim her with an eager stroke, like the hungry strum of a ballad. he’d etch verses into her skin with his touch. blinking quickly, he shoved his hands safely in his pockets and faced her.
“you got any requests?” he asked with some cheek. part of him unable to resist stirring up the hate she no doubt held for him now. no matter how sweet it all had begun, he made sure to poison the delicate bloom between them.
