Catamount Farm Parternship
Catamount Educational Farm is committed to providing the UVM community fresh, local produce grown by UVM students. One significant way they do that is through the two acres of land they’ve dedicated to growing produce for our dining halls. This partnership provides a robust education for Catamount Farm students in managing wholesale accounts and maintaining communication with chefs on campus. The student farmers take orders from chefs, harvest and pack the veggies, and deliver boxes of fresh produce twice a week to our dining halls on campus. In return, our chefs are able to integrate local, student-grown produce into their meal plan and fulfill our mission of providing “real food” on campus. Look for ingredient signage on Catamount Farm products and like our dining halls on Facebook to hear what produce is from the farm each week!
Partnering with Catamount Farm to bring student-grown produce to campus is just one of our sustainability initiatives. Learn more about our Sustainability plan and other initiatives on our website
