Hamburger Notepad - K-Mart, $2 AUD
It’s an inexpensive, squishable notepad that looks like a hamburger.
(Curiously, there’s no layer to represent meat, so this one’s also enjoyable for folks who prefer to avoid meat and meat references.)
I have to say that the foam bun is not even remotely slow-rising. If you press it down, it rises instantly. It’s also not terribly practical as notepad, given how shaped it is. I also don’t like the texture of the foam. It feels more like a standard dishwashing sponge or a very cheap bath sponge. I wish it were denser, like a makeup sponge or a squishy. It just isn’t my favourite sponge texture, which is a problem for a squishable toy.
I also saw a few of these in store where the bun had already peeled away from the notepad inside, so I don’t expect these to be very durable.
As a stealth toy you can explain away in a school or office setting because it’s a notepad, though, it’s hard to move past this as an option. It’s fun, funky and squishable!
