"Villains always lose"

Gem and Grian's explanation of 'villains always lose” is kinda strange given that in the life series, the designated villain of the season is nearly always the winner. Scar outright called himself a villain in secret life, Martyn won by betraying and killing his own ally and Impulse without a fair fight, Pearl was shunned as bad luck and a witch in double life, Grian started the war in third life and killed by far the most people, including his own ally.

It’s pretty clear that villains DO win in the life series, and Martyn’s victory in Past Life is far more of a subversion than I think people have realised.
