context: caths mom had a religious psychological breakdown when cath was young (getting visions warning of catherine’s sainthood!) which led to her being institutionalized and going into a catatonic state for the rest of her life. caths dad would visit every week to talk to her and tell her about catherine’s life (despite her being basically dead to the world)

added fact: it was a girl that “asked” her, not a boy, as a dare to see if catherine was a lesbian 🙃i was going to add that as a second page but i got too lazy to draw it LOL
