Apocalypse AU

It wasn’t the worst place to be barricaded against the end of the world, really.

But between Wilbur refusing to conserve rations, the unsettling odors wafting from underneath Elmer’s door, George stockpiling and hoarding of all the medical resources in the building, and the increasingly harebrained schemes from Bruno as to how to Save The World That Is Crumbling Around Us, some of the Hall’s inhabitants found themselves wondering how the rest of humanity was faring.

Bruno blinked. “Manny’s is a what?”

“A front,” Wilbur shrugged. “Uncle Manfred’s pretty tight with the Cosa Nostra.”

“But it’s a functioning restaurant,” Cathy protested. “And the food’s actually good. Aren’t Mafia fronts supposed to be, y’know, bogus?”

Wilbur was highly insulted.
