The betrayal stings. Gods above did it sting. But she did her best to keep her face casual. She didn’t want the media to see how she was reacting to any of this. She didn’t want Evelyn to see how she was reacting to all of this. She thought that they had something going, which was obviously a lie. All of it was a lie. She thought that they were friends but in the end Evelyn was just using her.
Perhaps that’s why this hurt the most.
She took in a shaky breath when the dark haired woman met her gaze and it takes everything in her not to roll her eyes at the woman, not to cry, not to stick her middle finger up at her, not to do a long list of things that come to her mind. Instead she merely stares back at the woman before she tilts her gaze down to her phone to see just how much longer she needed to be here.
