when you run out of tasks to do on love and deepspace but it has become your latest hyperfixation, so you just sit in the cafe thing and stare at all the cute boys 🫠

someone help me out here. you know what’s the weirdest (read: most delicious) thing about Baku and Deku’s developing relationship? it’s the way baku TAKES CARE of deku. like. don’t get me wrong he’s a fucking tsundere about it. but there are all these little moments where Baku looks after Deku’s wellbeing that just fucking floor me.

like immediately after Kacchan vs Deku part two, where they have FINALLY come to a place of understanding (sorta... they’re working on it.) the first thing Baku does is... give Deku fighting tips. “there’s too much wind up on your kicks”. like... what does that mean? Baku’s been so TERRIFIED of deku outstripping him before but he’s... offering him advice? helping him hone his skills?

and then we have Baku telling Deku and All Might off for whispering around each other like, “how the hell are you supposed to keep your relationship a secret when you’re both so DAMN obvious about it?!” like he cares more about protecting this secret than they do lol.

And Baku helps Deku train all his different quirks? was the first to find him and get thru to him during Deku’s Sasuke Retrieval Arc.... actually, the fact that even without seeing Deku, with just a letter, he could map out Deku’s precise thought process, what his mental state was as he was writing and even knowing that Deku was on a downward spiral because he’s self sacrificing... My son, that’s a lot of detail you have there for someone who claims not to understand deku at all.... just saying.

Once Baku was let in on Deku’s secret he appointed himself Deku’s caretaker. his keeper. we could argue til the cows come home about WHY. like, Baku WANTS deku to become the next symbol of peace, deku’s already been chosen as the successor to his hero, he wants him to live up to that legacy. absolutely true. but why would that mean taking CARE of deku? being so in tune with his mental and emotional state?

i don’t even know where i’m going with this i’m just fucking obsessed with the concept.

and don’t even fucking get me started on the parallels with Endeavor and the fact that when they ARE grown up pro heroes that’s what it’s gonna look like and it’s VERY MUCH baku pushing deku to the top. don’t talk to me, don’t touch me.

I am at war with myself.  On one hand, I am obsessed with Swaine. On the other hand, I wish I wasn’t... 

But every time I lose interest, I somehow get inspired by other things outside of Ni no Kuni to write about him! He’s stuck in my mind. God damn you, Swaine!
