You're not wrong exactly, but that was far from being the most racist bit of this episode to me.

Sure. I myself own a quite warm MAGA scarf that I got at a trump rally back in January 2016, because I thought it would be hilarious ten years down the road. It's not an attitude I can really condemn anyone else over, at this point.
Yeah yeah yeah, whatever
Okay, that’s a thing I guess.
I really don’t know what they were going for here. Most of the concepts for episodes have been so much better than this, so I’m surprised to see them fall back to “the sort of things that a 10-year-old thinks of as being edgy”. Complete with wink-nudge Jewish stereotyping. Additionally there’s only so many times you can tell the exact same joke over and over again, and we went well over that limit here.
Which is a shame, because the non-Hitler parts of the episode were genuinely interesting. The bizarre, hooded inquisitors could have gone places, and additionally we got a sizable bit of character background as well. We learned, for one thing, that the main three kids genuinely care about each other to the extent that they’ll start a manhunt, and we’re starting to see past David’s paper-thin smile as well. He’s, in perfect frankness, a slut for validation any way he can get it. We also learned that David and Max have a history that goes back before this current summer. If there is long-term continuity in this show’s characters and plot, which I haven’t seen anything so far to indicate there isn’t, these are valuable scraps of information.
Reigny Day is about a 4/10, I guess. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good.

Oh hey there Neil
Is this like...some kind of bizarrely elaborate joke about Catholicism?
What?
See, Max is conflicted by his inner urge to simply not give a fuck, which keeps running into the nagging voice in his head that suggests he really should be giving a fuck about this particular situation.
