Update about myself as a person for the tag: since October/November, I’ve gotten like… A lot better at taking favours offered to me, as well as asking for favours from other people

It had been such a point of pride for me to never ask for help from other people and to do everything myself when I can. And tbh I’ll still do a lot of stuff on my own. But I’m realising there are lots of stuff that I had assumed I had to take care of myself, that other people can actually help with. Not stuff like grabbing the remote but stuff like second opinions, emotional support, etc. turns out can be really helpful!

Weirdly enough, learning to reach out for help when needed has helped me feel *less* reliant on other people for my self-worth. Huh.

Character update: I like R&B

St Jerome's, the place that's technically my campus, is really different and I'm not sure how to feel It's objectively better, it's clean and big and pretty and in an aesthetic I enjoy [clean grey, warm lights, smooth curves] but I guess part of its charm was in its jankiness? In its old elementary school vibe kinda. I guess I'm more attached to nostalgia than I thought, I thought of myself as always being an advocate for change but I guess it's not that easy all the time even when the change is for the better

Umbrellas are really cool… For some reason I never really bothered with them but they’re actually really nice

I don’t know why but most of my life I’ve just completely shirked a lot of “obvious” rituals that most people do like zipping up my coat, wearing gloves, using an umbrella, wearing appropriate footwear for the situation, etc. And this is only thinking about clothing stuff, for some reason I never learned or absorbed a lot of social rituals and behaviours that I should have, particularly with strangers… Anyway yeah so I like to think of it as using an umbrella and coming to appreciate it on my own terms instead of just blindly assuming I’d need it. But really I should have realised how useful an umbrella would be from the start
