Lowkey enjoying the Cedric and Hadlee and then later the Marcus and Hadlee stuff. How does Christmas differ between the two boys? Like, when she spent Christmas with Cedric how was it and how was it different to the Christmas she spent with Marcus?
I’m so sorry it took me so long to answer this 😭 my family is here and I’ve been so busy with them
Hadlee and Cedric stayed together until their sixth year (I think? @gilded-blue-snake and I decided that Ced went with Eljay to the Yule Ball iirc). When they were together though, they just spent a lot of time together in the Hufflepuff Common Room alone, as most of the Hufflepuffs went home for Christmas. They’d probably practice Quidditch, but mostly stayed inside and explored the castle.
Marcus and Hadlee is… very different lmao.
He already had a previous marriage and has two kids from it. By the time he and Hadlee get serious, I imagine Annalise was like four and Flavius was a year old. She was having Christmas with an established family already.
Flav obviously didn’t remember Hesperia, so he couldn’t feel like Hadlee was replacing her. Annalise struggled at first, but she genuinely grew to love Hadlee like a mother later on.
Their Christmas is usually spent outside. Why stay inside when you can play in the snow? (I can also see Lee putting on chapstick and “sharing” it with Marcus by kissing him like in @imagrindylow’s absolutely amazing x-reader PLEASE GO READ IT)
But yeah! Cedlee are kinda just “stay inside and cuddle” while Madlee is “we’re going outside and getting soaking wet in the snow.”
A young girl, eleven, turned to face the platform, her brown curls bouncing on her shoulders. This was it. The moment she had been waiting for.
Hadlee stepped forward, walking to the front of the Great Hall and onto the podium. Professor McGonagall looked down at her, giving a simple nod. The older woman placed the hat on her head once she sat down on the stool, her legs dangling over the side.
“Hm. Interesting, very interesting.” The Sorting Hat’s voice was very quiet, but Hadlee could hear it loud and clear. “Just like your grandfather, you’re kind and have a deep sense of loyalty.”
Hadlee smiled.
“You like that, eh? Well then, you belong in – HUFFLEPUFF!”
Applause erupted throughout the Great Hall. McGonagall lifted the hat back up and helped Hadlee off the stool.
The girl made her way to the clapping Hufflepuff table, the smile still on her face. She sat between an older blonde girl and a brunette boy who looked around her age.
“Welcome to Hufflepuff,” the blonde said. “I’m Victoria Macmillan.”
“Glasspetal, Radiance?”
“Hadlee,” introduced Hadlee.
“GRYFFINDOR!”
Hadlee jumped at the even louder cheering. Over at the Gryffindor table were three red headed boys loudly whistling and clapping. A girl with dark red hair, the same shade as two of the boys, ran from the podium to join them with a large grin.
Victoria shook Hadlee’s outstretched hand as she stared at the table.
“That’s Charlie Weasley and the Glasspetal twins,” said Victoria. “And next to Charlie is my cousin, Oliver.”
Hadlee craned her neck. Sitting next to the largest redhead was a boy with brown hair. He was talking to a fourth redhead, completely oblivious to the chaos around him.
She could just make out the word “Quidditch” being said.
“It’s a little loud, isn’t it?” the boy next to Hadlee asked.
“Only a little.”
He smiled and held out his hand. “Cedric Diggory.”
“Hadlee–”
As soon as her hand grasped onto his, she was hit with wave after wave of visions.
She was under a gazebo in a white dress, holding a bouquet of red roses and laughing. The next second, she was sitting in a field of flowers, warming under the sunlight. After that, she was holding a small baby in her arms in a grey nursery.
With every second, every vision, Cedric was there with her. Every corner, every turn, he was there.
Hadlee had gotten visions of the future before, but never like this. She had never seen so many scenes in front of her in rapid succession.
It was more than a little overwhelming.
She felt as if she was drowning in her thoughts. It was all just too much.
Every time she almost made her way back, every time she almost escaped, another wave of visions forced her below the surface again. Cedric laughing. Cedric holding her close. Cedric holding a little boy with his eyes and her curls.
She started to feel as if she was drowning.
As she was plunged below the surface again, she felt something grasp onto her. Warmth coursed through her body from the touch on her shoulder, giving her the ability to focus.
And then a moment later, she was on the floor in the Great Hall, Victoria and Cedric hovering over her.
“Are you alright?” Cedric asked.
Hadlee reached forward, gently grasping onto his outstretched hand.
Hadlee Cassandra Euphoric (1979-) is a witch who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 20th century. She is able to see glimpses of the future VIA dreams or from physical contact.
She grew up as the only biological child of Jacob Euphoric and Lavina Scamander. Even though she did always want a younger sibling, she was content with her life with her parents and very large family. Some of her favorite memories are of the adventures she went on with her grandfather, Newt Scamander.
When she was seven, she had a repeated nightmare of her mother being blown to bits while at work as a Curse-Breaker for Gringotts. Hadlee ended up making herself sick with worry, which caused her mother to stay home from work to care for her. That very same day, there was a large explosion at the bank that resulted in the injury of multiple people.
It was then they knew that Hadlee had inherited her great-grandmother's gift of seeing the future.
Shortly after, her parents adopted the young Janice Alto, giving her the younger sibling she always wanted.
In 1989, she started her first year at Hogwarts where she was sorted into Hufflepuff. During the Sorting Ceremony, she brushed hands with Cedric Diggory, and was hit with multiple visions of the future. Their future.
Hadlee tried to fight it at first. She tried to ignore the way his eyes sparkled in the light or the way his hair perfectly framed his face—
She fell for him during her second year.
Luckily for Hadlee, Cedric felt the same way and they started dating at the beginning of their fourth year. Happily ever after for them! Haha just kidding.
During Hadlee's sixth year, she started to have horrifying visions of Cedric dying while competing in the Triwizard Tournament. While trying to figure out what all was happening with her abilities, Barty Crouch Jr. (disguised as Alastor Moody) was trying to kill her so she wouldn't ruin his plans.
On June 24th, 1995, Hadlee went to Barty Crouch Jr. to share with him her theory of the Triwizard Cup being a portkey. She wasn't aware of his role in everything and figured he was there to help.
She was able to hear the commotion of the crowd outside and assumed that she had failed with saving Cedric's life. However, her not being in the crowd prompted Cedric to abandon the task and look for her. She was able to save him.
Their relationship didn’t last however. Hadlee and Cedric slowly grew apart. She wasn’t sure when it started to happen, but her visions of the future, her future, started to change.
YES I WOULD LOVE TO YAP ABOUT MY TRAUMATIZED DAUGHTER!
If anyone else would like to ask questions, the link is here!
9. "First time living away from home"
Aside from Hogwarts, Hadlee lived with her parents until she was 18. She moved in with Cedric Diggory after they graduated. She was happy with their living situation, as was he.
They kept each other grounded in the chaos of the world around them.
14. "First time facing their fears"
Hadlee was six.
While exploring, she found herself stuck in the bottom of a large cavern. She was isolated and in the dark, two things she absolutely hated. Rather than stay in a corner and cry, she pushed past her fear and made her way out.
Thank you once again for the asks! If anyone else would like to ask me about my OCs/ships, feel free to!
