- I can’t believe this! You guys actually came!
Nicole approached them with a wide smile and open arms.
- It is your birthday… - muttered Daniela, hugging her.
- I know, it’s just - she shrugged - I wasn’t sure you’d want to hang with my crazy magical friends.
- It would have been their loss!
A dark haired boy had bounded over to Nicole and slung an arm over her shoulder.
- You’re absolutely right! - She laughed. - Guys, meet my very good friend and partner in crime Po Keir. Po, my friends from Earth.
- Hi! - he waved and winked, then turnijng to Nicole. - We should head inside, the party can’t get started without you, silly.
- Who’re you calling silly, dumbass? - the girl gestured to the colourfully lit inside of the cave.
The bewildered group followed the two friends inside.
- Oooooooiiiiiii! Everyone, it’s our birthday girl!
The people inside the cave cheered. Among them were all kinds of people, but all about their age. There was a stage by the left wall, where a boy and a band were clapping excitedly. Po pushed Nicole towards the stairs of the stage, which she climbed clumsily. She was given a microphone.
- Good evening, my friends! - she smiled tearfully. - Thank you for coming to my anniversary. - I’ve decided to throw this little soirée to celebrate the fact that I have actually made it to my seventeenth birthday. Also, I’m glad I get to celebrate with all of you lovely folks.
- We love you!
- Love you too, Ana! - she blew her a kiss. - I’d like to leave a special thanks to Mariposa, my sister, and Ulrich for helping me set up this place and also to Josef here and his band for providing us with some tunes. I hope everyone has a wonderful time!
She stoped to hug the curly haired Josef and descended right into the arms of her sister.
- And one and two and one, two, three, four…
A spunky up-beat song filled the room and soon the youthful attenders started swaying to the beat. Nicole was laughing with the tall boy known as Ulrich and her sister, when she waved over her Earth guests.
- Uli, have I introduced you to my sister-from-another-mister?
Danielas’s eyes widened and she hid behind of the boys from the small group she had came with.
- I don’t think so, no.
Nicole dragged her into a side hug.
- Dani here is one of the people I love most in the world and she tends to be suspicious of anyone she talks to for the first time.
- There! Two things you have in common! - Mariposa chortled as she traded looks with Nicole. Despite that awkward conversation starter, Daniela and Ulrich soon got to talking. Nicole lost no time in pairing up her remaining Earth friends with Orbis friends.
An hour passed and the mood in the room was electrifying. The teenagers were moving their bodies to the beat of the music and laughter could be heard. At some point food and drinks had arrived and everyone was eating and pouring sweet beverages down their throats.
Nicole was glowing.
She was dancing with her girlfriend on the center of the dance floor. Her hair a mess and her smile face-splitting. When midnight struck as she kissed Fyra, Nicole realised she was the happiest she had ever been.

Nicole is a girl who had lived in both before they fused. This fusion was necessary for both realities’ survival.
