Lore of Enderûn: Celestial Convergence
///A short bit of lore to start everything off///
Once there were two deities, both commanding aspects of a single domain. The Goddess of the Sun, Sol, and the God of Light, Valo. For centuries they lived in symphony with one another, and their worshippers did as well. The relationship was an easy one, one that was never taken advantage of by the other.
One day the speakers of all temples of Sun and Light across Enderûn received the call of their deities in their minds, from those awake and those asleep, directing them all to pray and watch the sun. This did not harm their eyes, as the blessings of both of these deities allowed their most devoted worshippers to be unharmed by bright lights, even when cast by the sun.
Days passed and every day since that message, the priests and priestesses all watched the sun, each person growing far more curious as to what their deities meant with their message. The time finally came for them to find out after a week passed, at midday where the sun was at its highest point in the sky on one side of the world.
The sun extinguished.
Panic began to set in very quickly for the common citizens of the world where the sun shined, but not the worshippers of sun and light, those awake and those who had the vision of the events taking place in their slumber. They knew their deities had something special in mind and that the sun would return. After several minutes, it finally lit up once more and seemed to have a different light and a different warmth to it than it did before. More soothing, more pleasant to the eyes of everyone.
In the depths of the Abyss, the Eye of Valo, under strict watch of Barathrum's followers, exploded into pieces, throwing them all into dismay as their eyes were burned beyond healing.
"Children of Light and Sun, hear my words…" Came an angelic voice to the heads of every single follower of Valo and Sol in the world, "The deities of Light and Sun are no more. They have both converged into one being, and I am that being, born of both sun and light. My name is Solaris, and I am the Goddess of the Sun. I oversee domains of both sun and light as my former selves have separately. I expect you all to come together in your worship, as I am the convergence of light and sun together. Do not attempt to search for the Eye of Valo any longer, as it is no more. All that is left is my Solar Diamond, and it now carries properties of both. Now those that are awake, return to your days and those asleep, return to your dreams. Live with the blessings of both sun and light together."
With that, the voice in the minds of the awake had subsided and the vision of those asleep faded, and the worshippers of Solaris that were awake began to spread the word of what their goddess had told them. The panic had dissipated as quickly as it came, and the day went on as normal with the more soothing heat and light beaming down on the world. And in the Abyss, those watching the former Eye of Valo scrambled to gain their senses once more and piece together what had happened.
After that day, it was almost as if the sun itself had been refreshed and was young again. All worshippers of the former gods did indeed come together in worship of Solaris. Some were slow to it as it was very new, but many welcomed Solaris easily with their unwavering faith.
But in the end, no one abandoned their faith.
