When im washing my tits in the shower and get to rinsing them, i kinda feel like a cow a bit. Like bending foward slightly to wash the soap of the top and bottom, it reminds me of when I milked a cow.
Just an observation I made last night

PHENOLOGY WHEEL
December
My final wheel of the year! 🥳
Having enjoyed observing and painting skies so much I made this my final source of inspiration. The depths of winter make other cycles much more difficult to keep track of, and I thought it would be a fitting full circle choice as I began with skies in January. My spin on it was to expand the concept to celestial observations as spotting stars and other goings on feels like a rare treat when the long nights time with clear skies - and you've got the best chance all year to see the night sky fight against the light pollution.
I prioritised recording night sky observations, then interesting visuals of the day to limit how many straight up grey skies I'd be painting. Took multiple pictures throughout the day so incase it was cloudy at night I'd have something else to paint. Tried to get as much variation as possible. Alongside the weather conditions l also wanted to keep a note of the time of day the observation was made so I could cross reference with star maps what it definitely was I was looking at.
Tiny moments in time shared with the vastness of space.
(an oops of filing in 🥴 - got the colour better on the right day thankfully 😅 so painted the wrong one out to fill in correctly later)
As with the rest of the wheel stats I used timeanddate.com for sky reference as well, planets sneaking into view amongst the usual constellations.
Saturn! Jupiter! 😄 Orion and his lil belt! The moon, my beloved ✨
With weather, time, stars, planets and moon phases to note (as well as the usual temps, dates and daylight hours) this wheel has the most info in it of any. Decided to use 4 small symbols for the overall cycle of the moon and tried to write weather and time on one line then planets/constellations below. Tried keeping it all as small as possible to not cover over too much of the paintings - but legibility suffers when so small especially on some of the really dark skies and because the pen ink sits unpredictably on the different textures of paint underneath it, sometimes bleeding and distorting. Have made a note in pencil of all the stats on the back of the image.
And so my year of paintings comes to an end. My plan is at some point to turn the pages into a book, include some more stats, fun facts or information on the back related to that month or observations I recorded within it. No super clear idea or time limit on it so will potter around now the "pressure" is off whenever the spirits move me.
All 12 laid out before they get chopped and bound and I can't do this with them anymore ✨
*Shout-out to the one pen I was determined to use throughout the whole process for aesthetic consistency and practical performance (though not practical in other ways because I lose things constantly, if only it was always hiding down the couch cushions 😅 🫠)
You weren't new and I almost ran you dry, good work pal 🖊️✨
