Desired Constellation
Voidloom ==> Remember meeting Hyuu
Loom; The cosmos, ever expanding, would lose a new star tonight. It's been a sweep since Loom's last star, and they were running on fumes. Last one... Hm, Bootes. Centari? It was important not to irrevocably change the night sky, but the best fuel was the largest that would fit. Usually, the void god would travel between the sheets of reality, pop out from a rift of their own making. This light, they floated through space, looking over stars from light-years away. Which one, if removed, wouldn't be missed? Which one hosted life, which was at the peak of its life? Usually alone, yet solitude broken. There was a feeling Equius had, just then, of being proximate to something, someone. The feeling was new, so, the space surveyed. Do they see a new hue?
@celestialhyuu Hyuu would be quite unaware of the approaching void god who had happened to take notice of her, at least until they entered her space within the void which she and many other entities like her called home. Only when they had found their way into the space would Hyuu become alert, perhaps even panicked at what felt to be an almost familiar pressure. A threatening sensation even, as she didn't know this specific one. The voidling would be quick to sink into the matter around her to attempt to blend in, though would be unable to completely hide her presence despite this. If this new being had senses as keen as her own, they'd likely very easily find her or at least know she was lurking around still, her eyes watchful as she did. When was the last time I felt this way. Hyuu would wonder to herself, knowing most of the younger or smaller creatures steered clear of her, feeling the dull ache of her scar as memories flooded her mind of the last time something stronger than her attempted to consume her.
Loom; Loom hadn't been expecting to see anyone, let alone a being of any caliber. I'm their eons, they'd never just casually met another like themself floating in the stars. It was a solitary existence, so excitement came with the feeling, rather than fear. Keen eyes- would she see the blue line running down from their nape, unbroken between their legs? How it is lined with teeth, where a rib cage would have been? Ah, and the mark of their first death around their neck, and the blue eye that sat above the collar bones. Long hair that variegated, even. Whatever it was that Loom felt, they knew it was new. "Hello?" They float erect, as if standing, curious and relaxed unless given a reason to be otherwise.
Hyuu; Hyuu on the other hand had grown used to being alone, she had grown used to watching the others flee from her because her own presence being menacing to them. So this was also new to her, though for an entirely different reason than the void god. The voidling would see it all, a vague sense of interest building behind the intimidation, yet she kept herself hidden within the void matter. This being was certainly beautiful but that pressure was something that required adjustment, perhaps in less startled circumstances. "Hello," a soft voice would echo back, chiming as it does. Just barely understandable with her nerves. "Not many come here." Hyuu would admit, a light stutter even in her voice. "Are you.. a threat?" Would a threat even tell her so? But the what ifs were in her mind. Perhaps they weren't here to eat her like the stronger ones here.
Loom; They were silent for a moment, just listening. With the stutter, they had figured it would take her a while to get out everything she wanted to say. At least, it sounded like a woman-- a musical voice, one that made sense. "I'd like to think that I am not one. Not unless you were to assault me, or any other such violence." They say it with the driest bit of humor, maybe it will come across, maybe it won't. "I am looking for a meal, unless you are a star, I don't believe you have anything to worry about." Their hair flips around them, and their eyes seem to land right where she would otherwise be, if her voice is any indication.
Hyuu; "I have no intention of doing so." Hyuu would assure, picking up on the dry humor just barely. "I'm well mannered, usually." "I don't think I'm a star, not really." She almost seemed to be questioning herself, as she supposed she could look like one in some ways. With a soft sigh, the voidling accepts she's been found, if the others eyes in her direction weren't making it obvious. She pulls herself free from the matter around her, with hesitation, reforming into her smaller self. It was more comfortable, though she herself would look nervous. "Hello, in person this time.. I suppose."
Loom; Hm. Oh! Oh, how tiny. Loom, here, now, was a macrocasm to her. She'd make a freckle on their cheek, a lash in their eye. The void god concentrates their own matter closer to the core of their black hole, though not all the way. Now maybe as tall as 10 of her, they appear to lay on their stomach, head resting on their crossed arms. Their little hooved feet slowly kick behind them. "Such a shy thing." A gentle smile. "Is that why you are alone out here?"
Hyuu; Hyuu who was small by choice only felt that much smaller with this god of void near, her glowing eyes peering up at them with both anxiety and curiosity swimming in them. She knew from feel, from look that they weren't of her world. Or so she assumed, as she's never seen one like them. There were similarities though, she'd acknowledge that. The voidling would watch closely with their change, a thought passing on how similarly sized they were to the God and Goddess who resided in Brimstone, though it would quickly pass after hearing the others voice again. She'd blink, finally looking away and laughing softly, a faint glow tinting her cheeks. "While I can't deny that, it's not why I'm alone." she'd admit. "Most seem to avoid me for.." a pause as she thought, "For reasons much like your own for being here."
Loom; Ah, that's fair then. Loom's head tilts in their crossed arms, listening to her as they look over her. -- "Not a lot of people would make it this far traveling with me. They are not built for space." A hum, their eyes traveling down her blue lines. It is only now that Loom sees they have the exact same scars-- neck, torso-- back to her face. "Do you have a name? May I know it?"
Hyuu; Hyuu finds herself fidgeting, feeling the others eyes on her but deciding to focus her own elsewhere for now. "That would make sense." she'd agree with a nod, "Though it's a different story for where I'm from. There are many creatures lurking about." Hyuu's eyes finally pull back up toward the god with their question, a small smile finding its way to her lips. "Its Hyuu. What about your own?"
Loom; "Hyuu? Isn't that lovely." It makes them smile, their freckles fading in and out like fiberoptics as she puts them in mind of color. "I am, as you see me, the Voodloom. Loom, for short." Slowly, they prop themself up on their elbows, hands turned palm up as if to invite her to step in. It is a casual gesture that should be easy to refuse, should she. "Where are you from?" It is a gentle, earnest curiosity.
Hyuu; Hyuu can't stop herself from laughing softly with nerves as the other repeats her name and calls it lovely, most certainly taking in the others features when she does look at them again. "I didn't expect to meet you, Loom." she would say it's nice to meet them but right now, that's mostly uncertain. The god did seem friendly enough though, which has calmed the little voidling a whole lot more than before, when she first felt them enter the space. There is very obvious hesitation in Hyuu as Loom's hand is offered to her, an invite she finds confusing and yet she can't help herself from being drawn in, curious despite everything. So she does find herself on their palm, finding it easier to kneel than to stand, sitting on her calves. She would hope the other wouldn't drop her, not that it would matter too much with Hyuu's ability to manipulate gravity. Hyuu's head tilts slightly with the question, eyes looking up at Loom. "I'm from Brimstone. It's a place cut off from the rest of the world with floating islands and void below."
Loom; And thankfully, gravity was no issue here. As a void being, even this large, Loom exerted no pull unless in an absorbing state. Which, maybe she will get to see. When she steps in and sits down, they bring her up only a little bit. Slowly. They lean in, merely looking over her. "I don't mean to be rude. I am not scrutinizing you, I promise. I have just never met-- something like me. Not like this." They were struck with bone deep curiosity, and something bordering despair. "Brimstone-- I haven't heard of it. Though it sounds enchanting. I've seen places that sound similar." They speak with a fascinated whisper, lifting her up a tad more, their head tilting. "Are you hungry?"
Hyuu; Hyuu may just be interested in that, so long as it wasn't her being absorbed. The little voidling can feel a pulse of anxiety as she's pulled closer, though doesn't move and watches the others expressions, their eyes but never directly meeting them. She does tilt her head again with the void gods words though, smiling softly even. "I don't think you're being rude," she reassures "I'll admit I've never seen another so similar either. It's a strange feeling." "It's a nice place. My home." her eyes lower, a mix of melancholy and contentment in them, conflicting. Hyuu does blink with the question though, unintentionally swallowing at the reminder of a hunger that never seemed to end. "Ah. Most times, honestly." she admits, shifting nervously against their palm as she's looked over.
Loom; Hm. They smile, eyes half lidded. It's a soft expression, one that rests easily into their features. "Maybe I could hear more about it--” But when she answers, 'most times', Loom's brow arches. Hah! Oh, more and more alike they become. "I'll share my meal with you. I am going to Alpha Centauri." They bring their palms closer together, such that she may have more space to relax. "Would you like to come with me?"
Hyuu; That expression seems to soothe over Hyuu quite a bit, calming some of the remaining frayed nerves. Hyuu wants to respond to what Loom started with but her face contorts some, uncertain but curious. "I've never eaten a star." she shifts to get comfortable in their hands again, allowing herself to relax further. Or at least as much as she can. "I'd like to. I am.. curious."
Loom; "There are three I am looking at, in that region. I've only ever had one at most. But -- it has been a long time since I've eaten. But I am happy to share." Loom gleams under the calm, absolutely delighted. They shift slightly, and slowly lift her to their shoulder. "Shall we then?" Their hair lifts like static, as an energy works in their core.
Hyuu; Hyuu nods her head as they speak, eyes near sparkling with curiosity for the strangers eating habits. She had only ate her own kind, her fellow void dwellers, as that is how it was in the void of Brimstone. Put simply, eat or be eaten. Grow stronger to survive. "I wonder if I am even able to eat a star." she mostly wonders to herself her hand going to rest on her cheek in a thoughtful gesture. "But I am curious to watch." she repeats, almost a little more eagerly than before. Once Hyuu's lifted to Loom's shoulder, she does hesitantly crawl there but does settle as comfortably as she can once more. "Sure."
Loom; It takes a moment, but with their power surging, Equius condenses down to a smaller size. Still a bit taller than present company, but it will be much easier to transport less volume. Rather than sitting on their shoulder now, he would probably end up piggybacking them to some extent. "Hold on." They smile wide, looking back at her. Just like that, shooting stars. The universe moves around the two of them, for how fast they are going. It maybe takes a few minutes to travel light years, the wonders of the void and synchronized power creating wormholes that double the inertia with every pass. Easing to a stop, The two end up right before the cluster of stars. From here it is still maybe a few hundred thousand miles away, but that is right where it needs to be. "How are you feeling?" They ask, a hand on hers just to make sure she is steady. From the hole in their other palm, an arrow begins to emerge.
Hyuu; Hyuu is momentarily startled as Loom begins to become smaller, leaving her now on their back and distracted by their smile after their voice. "O-Okay." She does latch on tightly though, with both arms and legs, trying to avoid strangling the void god but she really can't help but press closely with how everything is speeding by her. She wants to watch but she finds her eyes closed more often than she wishes, her face tucked against their hair. Before she knows it, they've stopped once again and her eyes flutter back open to take in the surroundings, vision drifting directly to Loom with their question. "Ah.. um, a bit dizzy. I-I hope I didn't hold on too tightly." she blushes at this, a little embarrassed with herself. How could she cling so hard onto someone she barely knew, circumstances aside. Her eyes do drift over their palm after a moment though, head just slightly tilted curiously.
Loom; Ah, of course. Loom does not mind at all. They are much too excited about the impending activities, such as eating. But she is very sweet, and being in such close proximity with someone so alike-- It is giving them butterflies. And, the realization turns the stars along their skin fiberoptic. They look down to the arrow that attracts her eyes. With their other hand, they pluck it out. Knocking an invisible bow, it slowly fades into reality. "Don't blink." The shot taken, it takes upwards of 5 seconds. Boom. The sun explodes in a massive supernova, collapsing in on itself. The process is expedited by the unnatural powers at work, and soon the sun is feeding into a black hole, it is blue. The teeth that line the wound going down Equ's flex and open, revealing it actually to be a rib cage. Vaporous eyes bubble out, effervescent. They reach in, and extract a fraction of the star that is being consumed. It is being refined. Pressure turns coal into diamonds, this is very much the same. What is left of the star is more akin to a piece of candy, hot and flashing like a labradorite stone. "Try eating this."
Hyuu; If Hyuu didn't find herself so distracted for the moment, perhaps she'd notice the change in Loom's stars along their skin. But now her focus is on the void gods arrow, nodding and listening to what they say, eyes watching closely without a single blink. They grow wide with wonder as she watches the explosion and the collapse of the star, observing closely as it is absorbed into the blue black hole. Hyuu does wish she had a better look of their torso right about now, though what she can see has her almost holding her breath. "How pretty, how fascinating." she says this mostly to herself, voice hushed and echoing. And then her focus is drawn to the condensing star, which now almost looks like candy. Or perhaps a pretty gem? The voidling finds herself leaning in without a thought, carefully taking it into her lips and avoiding nicking the other with her sharp teeth. And then, she swallows after a moment of holding it in her mouth, her face flushed and glowing with the realization of what she had done. "I-I'm sorry, I moved without thinking." she laughs awkwardly, nervous. But the shock of actually eating a star, or at least a condensed one, isn't out of her system either. "I didn't know I could do that.."
Loom; Loom cannot help but smile fondly at her right up and taking it out of their hand. In fact, they do not mind at all. It is sweet and innocent, and it puts them at ease to know that she is so comfortable around them. "Pretty you say?" They tilt their head, "We have two more to go at least. Wait until you see the biggest one go." That would be the one they would give her the majority of. "How do you find it to taste, how does it feel?" She ate but a morsel, but it was a good step. Honestly, that was a first time trick that Loom had done. The strength of their crushing void can refine anything. Sometime later the last star is killed, And it is even more of a show. It blooms into a blue rose, recursive and brilliant. By this point Loom is looking their most monstrous. All six arms manifested, All the other scars on their body glowing like open sores as light spills out with the digestion. Loom holds their hands out, palms up for Hyuu to take. "This may be arduous. Your first star is going to be like nothing you've ever had." They smile knowingly, and she finally gets the look at their gaping maw that she had been wanting.
Hyuu; Loom's smile does make the shyness swell more within Hyuu's stomach but she tries her best to remain calm, at least out the outside. Though her blush is hardly doing her any good in this. But so long as they weren't bothered, the voidling would try to find it in herself to do the same. "I think so." she'd chime back, smiling gently. "I can't wait to see it." This was true, this was all quite new to her and fascinating. How could she not enjoy herself? New experiences weren't always good but this one certainly was, and it was memorable. Hyuu hums to herself, seeming to contemplate. "The taste is hard to explain, as I've never had anything of the sort. But it was satisfying. I feel.. warm, full even. I haven't felt this way in quite a long time, I must admit." It was a strange feeling. After all, she felt like she was always starving.. though she too was to blame for that, with how little she ate. The voidling is enthralled with the burst of the last star, the color and shape pulling her attention completely once more. When Hyuu looks to Loom again, she hardly seems bothered by their monstrous form, instead seeming more taken in by it. "I was right.. I do think you are pretty. Though I could always find another word, if that one brings any discomfort." Her eyes then go to their offered hands, which she does timidly take. "I find myself feeling more nervous." she admits, it shows in her expression. She can't help but wonder what she should expect.
Loom; Oh-- hey. Okay. If she was still blushing, it would be matched. Loom's was a phosphorescent blue, bordering cyan. It was bright and hot when she complimented them. Not at all the reaction they would have expected of themself, totally taken off guard. They thought she was talking about the supernova earlier! Ah, hah. Loom is deeply flustered, to their shock. Even as they still hold their hands out to her. "It's - fine. Thank you." They clear their throat, "You're enthralling." A warm smile as their ears tilt back... Their hands slide up her forearms, the distance between them closing. Hm. "Disengage slowly if you must. Tap my shoulder if it is too much." They whisper. Second set of hands on her shoulders, third on her hips. It may seem unnecessary, but in truth they are perfectly aligning their twin scars. The cavernous depths of their own swell with too much power, distending against the reality of itself. Eager to bubble over, seek its level. Ah, And what does she do? Do her own scars operate like their own, absorb the energy? Or will it feed into her flesh, her mouth as it pours? Hyuu, what is happening to you? Loom's tooth-like ribs press into her skin. Merely for how close they are, it would only hurt if they truly embraced. Loom passed through her in a sense, much like a ghost. Their thumbs stroke her arms, as of to ask, 'are you okay?'
Hyuu; Aha, so it wasn't just Hyuu who was blushing now. She couldn't stop herself from smiling at the sight, giggling softly as Loom cleared their throat. But, the soon returned compliment sends the little voidling into her own fit of flushing brighter, it seeming to spread up her pointed ears. Now it's her turn to clear her own throat, her eyes drifting away meekly. "T-Thank you, dear." Hyuu finds herself relaxing with the closeness, oddly, though also nervous at the same time. She hardly knew Loom, yet they were here sharing this moment and a meal in quite an unexpected way now. How would it feel? She'd soon know. "Alright." she responds softly, clear nerves in her echoed voice. Now she doesn't know what to do with her own arms or hands, though almost immediately as the energy pours into her own scar she finds her limbs latching to Loom if they are able to, hands clawing into them though seeming to try to resist doing so at the same time, shaking against them. Hyuu can't help the choked gasp and broken breathing-- breathing? She hardly needed that but couldn't seem to help it, even if it was simply imitation. She even felt tears burning at her eyes, blurring her vision. It was overwhelming, horribly painful and yet.. to be filled with energy felt so satisfying too. Like a warm buzzing going through her, both dulling and aggravating the ache at once. What a conflict of emotions and physical sensations. And then her body twitches lightly when she feels the other soothingly stroking at her arms, widened eyes blinking up at Loom with tears spilling over. She'd nod, then shake her head and nod again-- all done slowly. Confused, clearly. "It h-hurts.. and yet--" her voice is distorted so much now, could they even understand her?
Loom; Her tears are not alarming. Truth be told, they are not even worried. They knew this would be hard for her, and they had the ability to stop if needed. So, she will be okay. In the same, they tried to comfort her. And of course, of course they understand her. She hasn't tapped their shoulder, has she? So, to alleviate her ache, or maybe to make it worse- The hands on her shoulders slip to her cheeks, then round to the back of her head as Loom brings her into a deep embrace. Scar to scar, neck to neck as their head droops over her shoulder and they invite her to do the same. The hands around her hips clasp their own forearms, locking her in place. The pressure outside of her body would help contain the pressure building up inside of her. It is so much energy, and so much power for such a new thing. She seems so new. "Halfway there. Remember: you can tap." It felt nurturing, to an extent. All of this. Barely above a whisper, "And you are doing so good." They can't help but nuzzle into her neck, cold breath hitting. Her ache was their ache-- a deep loneliness aggravated by its own lack. To ache means to digest, and that translates to the possibility of. Or, maybe they could teach her. She certainly had the means to digest, and that translates to the ability to obtain. Oh, how exciting! And what a terrifying thought, that it should end. Her tears are matched, as she is held tighter.
Hyuu; Hyuu can't help the garbled whimpers as she's pull whimpers as she's pulled closer, the comfort causing a conflict of feelings to rise just as the energy sharing is. But she hardly resists. In fact, the voidling finds herself clinging tighter, claws finally digging into Loom and head resting against their shoulder, imitated breaths spilling heavily and tears refilling her unfocused eyes. She wanted to accept as much as she could, as much as they'd give, even. Perhaps this would fill her for longer than eating others like her. That thought lingered despite the mind numbing sensations. "Y-Yes.." she breathes back a response to their reminder, whining with the praise and shuddering from the feeling of their cold breath against her skin. The cold usually didn't affect Hyuu this way, though with all the sensations and what felt like heightened sensitivity from accepting the energy, it felt like even just Loom's breath could tear at her skin gently. Hyuu hardly knows the depth of Loom's thoughts but she does have many of her own that are alike, though it's too hard to think of them in this exact moment. Instead, she simply finds her body twitching once more from the tightened hold. Perhaps she should stop, what if she couldn't handle it all? With the vague thought, her hand does snake up to wrap against them, hand on their shoulder but not quite tapping yet. Just squeezing tightly, shaking.
Loom; Loom, here, was close to absolute zero. Cold does not exist, only the absence of warmth, in their void. But the scintillating stars that royalled inside of them helped. As did her acknowledgment. Hyuu was still there to respond, and that was good enough. As her hand sneaks up, Loom prepares to stop. The jaws around their wound flex, as if ready to snap shut at a moment's notice. But that means digging into her skin. But, as we sink deeper, the star is coming to an end. An event horizon slows time to near nothing, but once you're past it, it's over in an instant. The swell of energy begins to dim, and she would feel it swell to its furthest extent. Stretching, gaping, coming to its peak as it crests. It washes over, white caps on a terrible wave. Until all that's left is the aftertaste. Remnants of stardust sparkle between the two of them, the seal of their twin scars pursed into a beast with two backs. Pitter, pitter, pitter out. Nuclear fission dissolving into a sigh. And it's over. Did she tap? Loom without realizing, had been running fingers through her hair, nuzzling wet cheek to wet cheek. Finally, they thought, someone understands.
Hyuu; "Ah, t-that--" Hyuu's voice squeaks out, not sure how to react to the feeling of the sharpness digging into her torso now, her body jolting hard with the sensation of teeth starting to close against her. Shock, pain, confusion. But it never seems to go further as it doesn't entirely close, simply digging into tender flesh. If Hyuu's shaking was bad before, it's only worse now as Loom's connection to her seems to slow. Her body sinking against them and feeling weak, weaker than before, exhaustion overwhelming her mind and body. She can still feel it, she still aches yet it still dulls, conflicting. The fingers running through her hair feel nice and distract her, soft sounds bubbling up her throat with the nuzzling. Then she realizes the other is crying too. "Loom?" Her voice is soft, warped and hard to understand but she still shows her own dazed concern.
Loom; They're much more concentrated, they've eaten a total of seven stars now, so it is nothing incredibly new. They are able to focus somewhat, though still a little bit dazed themself. There's always a heady, heavy feeling after a feeding. And this one so huge-- "I'm okay." They hold her as they have been because there's no way to hold her tighter. No way to hold her closer. They drift in space, once upright and having somehow gotten horizontal, side by side. "I just--" they shutter, there are no words. How could there be? Their ribs flex into her from the effort of trying to stop crying, to stop at sunset. And, it does work. They are still visibly moved to tears, but at least they could stop themselves from sobbing into her. "Thank you." Is all they can say, hold on her easing. But they don't let go, they can't bring themself to. They swallow and curve into her, balling into themself for comfort. In the process, releasing all but her hands. They look-- how do they look? Loom lays by her side, hair splayed and white eyes glossy as hers. "Are you sated?" A smile mustered.
Hyuu; "Are you sure?" she wonders out loud softly, blinking lightly. Hyuu squirms from the feeling of Loom's ribs, sighing out shakily to release that tension. Her body still felt somewhat overwhelmed by the many sensations but it was less so than before, while absorbing the shared energy. "Ah, um.. y-you're welcome?" Hyuu's uncertain what she's done to earn Loom's thanks but she does feel them releasing somewhat, which almost makes her miss the feeling. But the fact that they don't entirely let go is enough for her, though she does feel the pull to cup their face when she sees how their eyes look. She resists for now, enjoying how their hands feel together. "I am, though I am tired too." she admits, a languid smile pulling at her own lips.
Loom; Gentle sigh from the nose, a free hand of the six pax palm heels the tears from their left eye. A deep breath in, recenter. Breathing is important. It's mindful. It helps. She sounds so confused. But, that she hasn't pulled away-- "Maybe we should rest." Look pulls Hyuu's hands to their mouth, pressing her knuckles to their lips, sans kiss. They close their eyes. "I can't. Express it properly. How this has made me feel."
Hyuu; Hyuu watches Loom with concern through the haze, once again another taking priority over herself. But she nods. "I think rest would be good." she agrees, blushing from the kiss to her knuckles. Not the time, silly. she thinks to herself. "It's alright. You can find it slowly and I'll listen when you do."
Loom; How sweet of her-- to them, here now? Maybe they weren't the only one affected. Unless she is just like that, but the thought doesn't really occur. Because they are like that. Her blush is noted-- "Would you stay with me a while longer?" Their hands feel weak. They bring her palm to their cheek, where they match her hue. "I." Huh. It hurts, actually. "This is. New to me. I feel-- I feel understood. I feel..." Their second set of arms, the thumbs rest on the edges of her scar, chaste but trembling. It isn't lust, Loom knows that much. "Like this matters."
Hyuu; "I will." Hyuu's smiling timidly when her hand is brought up to Loom's cheek next. She doesn't pull away though, no, she actually moves her own fingers to gently hold there, her thumb lightly stroking over the flesh. She's hoping to soothe them, if even a little. "Ah," she says with realization, an ache refreshing in her own scar as she thinks over what happened again, and again. "It does matter. To be understood matters."
Loom; Easing into her touch, head tilting and eyes closing, Loom can't help but cry now. It isn't the ugly wallowing they've done so much before. Gently weeping, their hair cascades as a curtain when they come to embrace Hyuu again. Maybe the two stay like this for a moment, a while, or she vanishes right there and then. Whatever the case, they hope not to lose her yet. And you stayed like that, until you didn’t.
