first game of 2020 finished: Majora’s Mask
i’m excited for and happy with everything that has been announced so far with shadowbringers. even if its not all exactly what i had expected, the team continues to do surprising things and to constantly create exciting content.i never expected two new races, either. they’re giving us so much with this expansion. even more than the last, by the looks of it. im super hype.

5. Most overrated game?
None? I haven’t played every single FF game yet, but I’ve enjoyed each one. I think all of them deserve the praise they receive.
16. Which game had the best cast of characters?
Ah, oh man. I’ve been incredibly attached to the characters in each FF game I’ve played...Maybe iv and vii, for having the most characters I love immensely, but honestly all of them have such good characters. For instance, the characters in x work so well together, and in xii I felt like the cast of characters became an adorable and off-beat family by the end. And then there’s type-0...Yeah, I just love the characters in all of the games, really. I could ramble about this quite happily all day.
31. Do you have any theories or headcanons you swear by (e.g. Rinoa as Sorceress)?
Does Haurchefant being in love with WOL count? I also think Aymeric has one-sided feelings for the WOL.
32. Are there any fanon theories/headcanons you just can't believe?
The whole Vincent may have fathered Sephiroth thing. I mean DoC made it pretty clear that Vincent is definitely not his sire.
37. What do you think makes a game a "quintessential" Final Fantasy game? (In other words... some people say the new games don't feel like Final Fantasy games to them. What FEELS like a Final Fantasy game, to you?)
I think what makes an FF game an FF game is the expansive story-telling and, probably most of all, the cast of well written, vivid, fully fleshed out characters who learn from each other and grow together during their journey. That and the gorgeous music.
39. What is your favorite prequel or sequel?
Crisis Core, the After Years, xiii-2.
40. Square-Enix hands over the reins to you, to make a prequel or sequel for any game of your choice, even ones that already have those things. What do you make?
I think it would be cool if they did a prequel to The After Years/ sequel to iv (in-betweenquel?). I’d love a game that focuses on Kain during his 17 years away from the other characters and prefaces the story of The After Years even more. Oh and of course a sequel to Type-0. And, honestly I really want an HD remake of ii. I know that doesn’t really match what is being asked here, but I think they could really expand on the story and characters even more (Firion is my man, my bae, my love).

1. Favorite Final Fantasy game?
This is a really tough question. I get so absorbed in each game when I play it that I feel like they’re all my favourites. My top 5 are probably iv, vii, dissidia, xiv, and type-0.
7. Favorite antagonist?
Probably Caius Ballad. He’s extremely sympathetic and attractive. Gabranth as well, if you can consider him an antagonist - since he’s kind of in a grey area.
11. Funniest character?
Probably Edge. There are so many though.
41. Which character has the best outfit?
I’m a sucker for Lightning’s valkyrie-style outfit in xiii-2. I also love Kain’s dragoon armour, and Y’shtola’s Heavensward outfit.
51. Favorite non-vocal song?
The OSTs are all so beautiful that it feels impossible to pick just one. I really love Opening (Bombing Mission), Divinity ii, The Hand that Gives the Rose, Prelude (for the entire FF series), Divine Fire, Zanarkand, Caius’ Theme, Liber Fatali, One Winged Angel, the dungeon theme from ii, Somnus, just all of the OST music, all of it.
