As an individual with like about 30-40 fics with that plot, I can't say that foster kid Shinsou is a bad fanon concept or anything - I do think it's overdone (and especially it's way too far down the ""accepted as canon"" train) but it's technically just as good idea as any other. However, I would love to see:
Different ways to portray foster kid Shinsou (his foster experience doesn't have to suck!)
And more than anything more concepts of what his home life is like.
That CAN be fucked up shit (frankly despite my love for 4 sisters Shinsou family my longest Shinsou fic recently has had him with his dreadful uncle so y'know) and it can be good families and it can be mixed bags (think of how fandom is starting to portray Mitsuki, as more of a flawed but loving parent rather than an Endeavor copycat or a perfect mother).
Also, free my men Aizawa and Mic. Free them from nuclear family dynamic. Let them suck as parents or godbless let Aizawa and Shinsou have a relationship that's deeper than teacher/student (if you want) but not easily boxed into dad/son (or uncle/nephew, or siblinghood, etc. They can just be close).
Anyways. My manifesto. I have begun. Let's all write Shinfic.
EDIT! ALSO! Reminder that Horikoshi did not write Shinsou's family into the equation because that's not where Shinsou's complexes (and/or trauma and various disorders) come from! You do not have to focus on Shinsou's family life! There are lots of other things you can do to him!
