It would be one thing to say this encounter, if it could even be called that, is pure chance but that would be a lie. It’s far from chance, not quite planned but not up to the sheer whimsy of fate. It is more apt to say that years of training, years of the Astral programming, has not left him. Not in the many, many years above the clouds, above the skydoms, even in the most secluded land of Canaan. Lucifer has no way to ignore how he was made, how he was programmed. He cannot forget, cannot escape, his role and its many parts.
One such part is the regular assessment of other Primal Beasts.
Which is exactly why he’s here, Lucifer is just barely coherent of how far he’s traveled, barely aware of what he’s doing. Even what little coherency he has about all of this can’t quite stop him. Two thousand years of pure routine is hard to break in a few days.
Two thousand years of routine is what has lead him to this pier, on the lookout for deep reds and blonde hair. It would be foolish to think that Chevalier would appear on their own, if they even could. Lucifer isn’t aware of what technology the ones running the Ark have but if they could drain his core of almost every ounce of power he had at his disposal.
Then certainly, certainly, Chevalier was the same if not worse off.
The thought that Chevalier, who had as he recalled merged with a human, may have been drained of their powers similarly occupied him. It could be potentially hazardous to both Primal Beast and the one bonded to, Lucifer can recall a fair few Astral experiments with someone bonded that went...
Awry would be putting it nicely.
It gives him a sense of urgency, not overpowering but when Lucifer finally finally glimpses the woman he’s looking for the primarchs head snaps up in attention before gently calling out.
“Chevalier.”
“Or are you her bonded, lord of Albion?”
Lucifer does not know which is in control, if there is a chance of it at all, but he knows on some levels he cannot be entirely ignored by the Primal Beast. Even if they tried, he can continue to persist. There is always some means of finding them, some means of monitoring.
