CF-101 Voodoo

Finish Stuff Friday: Thursday Edition.
Finally wrapped up my vintage Monogram CF-101 Voodoo, copyright 1990. I had originally built this kit when it first came out, when I was a teenager. I always remember the markings looking sharp, so I recently picked it up again on Ebay.
I started the build with scribing all of the panel lines, and then sanding down the raised lines. The fuselage fit together so very well, I didn’t need to fill gaps at all, just sanding. The gap at the wing root was massive though. Had to fill it with Tamiya putty and CA gap filler. The 30 year old decals were also very fragile, and most of them had to be pieced together once in place. They were also obviously dot matrix, so they don’t hold up to close inspection. Fun build though, really took me back.
McDonnell F-101 (CF-101 in RCAF service) Voodoo supersonic jet fighter and recce aircraft.
First flight Sept 29th 1954, intro to service May 1957, 807 built across multiple variants and she served until 1984
