Eddie and Jonathan were running through Steve’s house playing a mix of hide n go seek and tag. Robin and argyle sat on the couch in conversation, drinking tea and eating Argyle’s ‘special cookies’. The house was so peaceful, only occasionally being interrupted by bursts of giggles.
The day was perfect… until they heard a crash and sobs. Robin and Argyle shot off the couch and began frantically looking for the boys. “Eddie?! Jonny?!” They found Eddie under a broken bookshelf and Jonathan desperately trying to pull him out from under it. The shelf was actually relatively light but with the bulk of it, lifting it was a two man job. Robin and Argyle lifted it off him and set it so it wouldn’t fall again. “Auntie Robin!” Eddie sobbed as he threw himself into the woman’s arms. She comforted him while Argyle tried to find out what happened.
Once the boys had calmed down enough, they found out that Jonathan had accidentally chased Eddie into the shelf, causing it to break & fall on him. Robin looked the boys over, checking for any scrapes or bruises. Thankfully both boys seemed fine other than a small bump on Eddie’s head.
Argyle called Steve to tell him about the shelf and that Eddie was fine. Steve was a bit upset about the shelf but was mostly relieved that his baby was ok. “I won’t be home until seven. Let Eddie pick dinner, it’ll make him feel better. He’ll probably pick pizza so make sure he eats some kind of vegetable for snack today. Okay?” Argyle laughed at the man’s serious tone. “Okay, i think i saw some carrots and celery in the fridge. Those okay?” “Yeah that’s perfect. Oh and keep an eye on your special cookies, i dont wan’t a repeat of ‘the incident’.” A few months ago, argyle accidentally left out a box of his ‘special cookies’ while babysitting Eddie and the boy ate all of them. “Yes, Steve, Me and Robin ate the last of them to prevent a disaster like that from happening again.” Steve wasn’t sure if he should be amused or annoyed. “Very funny. Now i have to get back to work, you have been warned.”
Argyle hung up the phone and walked to the living room. Eddie & Jonathan’s faces were being decorated. They had bows & braids in their hair and makeup & stickers on their grinning faces. They were absolutely beaming as Robin tried to hold them still to avoid poking their eyes with makeup brushes.
“Bubba!” Jonathan squealed. He got up and pulled his caregiver to the couch so them & Robin could ‘make him pretty’. His heart was fluttering as the adorable little boys did his hair & makeup. He pulled the boys in for a hug and peppered their faces with kisses.
The moment was too cute for Robin to pass up. She ran to grab her camera and quickly returned. “Say cheese!” She took a picture of what may be the happiest boys she’d ever seem. “Silly boys.” She said, smiling, as she went to play with the boys & caring stoner. “I love my pretty boys.”

Jonathan Byers was a pretty tough guy, he was strong, and he was very independent. but after Will went missing, he felt broken.
He hated it, but sometimes he would just feel younger, he didn’t know why, it just happened, and it was worse when he thought about all the trauma.
The years went on, trauma after trauma happening, no way to seemingly escape from this hell, that’s when he met Argyle.
When the Byers’ moved to california, Argyle was the nicest person to Jonathan, they became close instantly. Jonathan had told Argyle about how he was struggling with trauma, not going into detail. And that’s when Argyle decided to show him weed.
They started out as smoking buddies, for months it was just get high and laugh together, and then one time, Jonathan had fallen into this child-like state, he was so confused, but Argyle just took care of him.
The next morning, Jonathan felt so bad. He’s never done that around anybody, not even Nancy. “Shit.” He mumbled to himself, thinking about Nancy flooded back all the memories of her, which made him remember everything in Hawkins.
Thinking about that all made him feel small, and Argyle was still over, so he really didn’t know what to do. He got up, and got out of bed, but he didn’t really have anywhere to go. So he just sat on the floor and tried to make himself feel normal.
Argyle woke up when he heard muffled sobs coming from across the room. “Jonathan? You alright?” Argyle asked, sitting up to try and find Jonathan. He was sitting on the floor, knees tucked up to his chest, his head buried in his legs, and soft sobs came from him.
“Dunno.” Jonathan said, not looking up. Argyle kinda thought he knew what was happening, he had a friend years ago who had become younger ages, just sometimes.
“Hey, you’re alright, okay? You’re safe. Do you wanna tell me what’s going on? I can try to make it better.” Argyle was gentle with Jonathan, he always was, but seeing him like this, it made him feel more caring for him.
“Don’t feel adult. Feel child.” Jonathan said, he was terrified for the response he would get. “How old are you thinking you feel?” Argyle asked, really gently, Jonathan was surprised he didn’t freak out.
“4, I think. Dunno.” Jonathan shrugged. “That’s normal, okay bud. You’ve gone through some trauma, I know you won’t tell me the exact details, but trauma affects everyone, and this is just how it affects you. Is this your first time feeling like a child?” Argyle asked, and then clued in to the way Jonathan was acting the night before, that wasn’t a bad high, that was him being small.
“No, happened for years.” Jonathan said, he kept his head down, but his crying had stopped. “Come back here, come lay in bed. We can talk this through, okay. I’m gonna be here no matter what, you’re my best friend, and I don’t care what age you feel, I’ve always got you bro.”
It had been about 6 months since the first time Argyle had seen Jonathan be little, now the two were dating, which surprised Jonathan, he didn’t even think he liked guys, but here he was, dating, and in love with a guy.
The upside down shit had happened all again, it was traumatizing for all of them, and when that all happened, Jonathan explained everything.
So now Argyle was the carer for Jonathan, and the boyfriend of Jonathan. They were very happy, and Jonathan had learned to accept his little side, he even started doing it for fun and by choice instead of it happening with a negative trigger.
Jonathan was eating dinner, pasta with red sauce. The two were home alone, so Jonathan could be little outside of his bedroom. Because of the meal chosen, Jonathan made a huge mess.
“Okay, little man, we gotta get you in the bath now.” Argyle said after taking Jonathan’s empty plate to the sink. “No bath. No.” Jonathan protested. “Bud, we gotta get you cleaned up. Then we can do whatever you want.”
“Smoke?” Jonathan asked, eyes lit up so brightly, and then instantly shut down. “Babes, I told you, no getting high when you’re small, it’s not good for you.” Argyle said, and Jonathan pouted.
“I’ll give you an ice cream, whatever flavour you want, we have strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.” “Fine, quick bath.” Jonathan said, with a huff. “Okay, let’s go then.” “Me not waking.” Jonathan said sassily.
“You’re not walking? Dude, you’ve gotta walk.” Argyle didn’t fully understand that Jonathan was asking to be carried. “No. I not gonna walk. You take me to bathroom.” Jonathan said, another huff.
“You want me to carry you, little man, I don’t know if I’m strong enough. You’re not heavy, I’m just very weak.” “Argyle you’re strong! Carry me!” Jonathan begged, with cute little puppy dog eyes that Argyle couldn’t resist. He agreed, walked over, placed a kiss on Jonathan’s nose, and picks him up.
They made it into the bathroom, and Argyle put Jonathan down. He went back to Jonathan’s bedroom to grab the bubbles, towels, and the few rubber ducks they had gotten for bath toys.
The bath was fine, Jonathan wasn’t the biggest fan of bath time, but he also hated showering, he didn’t want to be dirty, he just hated getting clean. But then Argyle lived up to the promise, Jonathan got his ice cream.
And there he was in all his glory, ice cream in his hair, all over his hands, on his freshly washed new pyjamas, he was so sticky from all the ice cream he had spilled, and Argyle realized that they had to have another bath.
So they went into the bathroom again, ran the water to the right temperature, put bubbles in, washed Jonathan all up, had a little bit of time to play with the toy ducks, and then get out and get a new set of pyjamas on. This time it was a pair of boxers and one of Argyles tie dye shirts. It was late now, about 9:30, so Jonathan was tired.
Argyle tucked him into bed, and then went and finished up the chores, he knew it was Jonathan’s job to clean up, but he was far too small to do the chores, and Argyle didn’t mind, he practically lived at the Byers house, rent free. So he really didn’t mind doing little things to help out around the house.
He cleaned up the bathroom, brought the bubbles and ducks back into Jonathan’s room, so no one would find them. He didn’t want Jonathan getting outed, he really didn’t want that.
He cleaned up the dishes from dinner, cleaned up the mess on the table, and that was everything he needed to do. He finally went and crawled into bed with Jonathan.
“I missed you, it was cold.” Jonathan said. “Well I’m here now baby, come snuggle in.” Argyle said, opening his arms for his lover to come snuggle in to. Jonathan fell asleep with his head on Argyle’s chest, fondly listening to his heart beat.
They were happy, Jonathan loved that he wasn’t ashamed to be little anymore, he was loved for it, he had the best man in his life, and he took care of him. They were so happy together.
