Oh, one more thing (same anon)(unless some other anon ninja'd me), I personally think you should have gone with CG's true reaction. I, for one, would not have considered it unkind to us. Much as he didn't like what he saw were lies disguised as kindness, I prefer writers and roleplayers to not hold back on their character's reactions. Especially when it's something as important as this. Better to learn the lesson here and now than when the protection of fiction is removed and reality kicks in.
((Not sure which anon you are exactly, but glad to have you back!
Yeah. If I redid the event I might have done it differently, but as it is I don’t regret the decision. I’ve got that 20/20 hindsight now and have a better idea of what might be coming if I do something similar again, but I try to keep in mind that past!me– even just the past!me of a few hours ago– has a different perspective than I do now. Similarly, I’m glad you think it’d be fine with the reactions and I agree that fiction is a good practice ground for these sorts of things. It’s definitely part of why I more explicitly include this sort of stuff, though again, just bc you and I are cool with this sort of stuff doesn’t mean others are. And I’d never done something like the CG event before ever, so… Maybe I was over cautious? Maybe I overthought it. Maybe I’d redo things if I did it again now. But back then, knowing what I did in the place I was? I think I made a logical decision at the very least
[i swear there’ll be real blog updates today at some point ] ))
