It was the first time he had left the void and stepped into the fresh air of the Mewman Kingdom. He didn’t realize how much his old, literal garbage home stunk until now. He probably smelled too.

He was getting closer to his parents’ house and he felt his heart thrum hard in his chest. “Dennis stood up to them...you can too.” He needed to get his brother out of there. Where they’d go, he had no idea, but...

Closer. His heart drummed faster and his vision began to blur in panic. All the bravado he thought he built up in the void was starting to dwindle.

“....NOPE CHANGED MY MIND!” The kappa turned to bolt and slammed hard into a painful heel at level with his face, falling heavily to the ground.

Out In The Open

Ludo and Toffee had both been at the castle for a few weeks now. The young kappa quite pointedly refused to be out wandering if he knew Toffee was anywhere nearby. No amount of coaxing of ‘he won’t hurt you, Ludo’ would get the bird to unlock the door. With his wand gone so was his bravery against a beast that had traumatized and rather, psychologically tortured him.

Ludo contemplated just going back in the void; this castle hardly had the use for two monsters, but he didn’t...want to be alone after everything had happened. The castle was the only place he could always guarantee healthy food and a warm place to sleep. He couldn’t let the miserable croc chase him out of another home. He wasn’t destroying his life again. Ludo needed to confront these feelings.

But he wasn’t doing that defenseless. Paranoia had the chick tuck a small dagger into his pocket just in case Toffee decided to pull something. Ludo advanced slowly and nervously from the castle court yard, making his way to the...tree Toffee was obsessed with for some reason.

@ask-toffee-and-mandy Ludo despised storms and he had ever since his cruel siblings used to lock him out as a young chick as he screamed and pounded the door. Every flash brought a new terror that curdled his stomach and the Avarius child backed away from the window, trying not to tremble.

Sibling Woes

“Make sure they eat their lunch,” Moon instructed one of the servants as the woman scribbled things down onto a pad of paper. “Ease up on the butter, it’s terrible for their cholesterol. If they’re well behaved they can have ice cream, but that’s only if they’re behaved.”

And with her daughter and their newest wayward addition, she didn’t imagine they would be very behaved. In fact she didn’t expect much of the castle standing when she returned.

“Star, don’t give the servants any trouble,” Moon told her daughter as she straightened her hair and tucked in her crown. It was early in the morning; time for another meeting; such came with being a ruler. “And play kindly with Ludo.”

Said bird was behind a doorframe, eying Moon somewhat shyly but giving Star a narrow-eyed glare when Moon wasn’t looking.
