Amaranth’s were-lion form. He’s pure-blooded, closely related to the progenitors of his species. He is the king over the yet unnamed desert-themed dominion of his people. Popular with the more progressive-minded. His policies are open to trade, open to collaboration with other, outside species/races/governments. He’s generally seen as more tolerant and accepting than the sovereigns that came before him, especially where it comes to the prejudices held against half-breeds. Still, Amaranth is not as benevolent as he might portray. His political rivals have a habit of...growing silent either through blackmail or through more...final means. When in human form, he stands at 6′7″. Generally speaking, this is on the lower end of average for his kind. In beast form, he stands at 8′5″, again, at the lower end of what is considered normal for his kind. Odd for someone so closely related to the progenitors -- hence the rumors that suggest he is not as pure-blooded as reported, hence the rumors that give weight to why he appears sympathetic to the half-bloods. The horns that serve as his crown, however, are evidence to his heritage. Half-breeds have no secondary traits outside of the animal that dominates their beastly half.  His relationship with Wolfram is often speculated about. The facts are thus; Amaranth pulled Wolfram from the ranks of the Talon Knights, tossing away the veil of anonymity that each among the order are forced to wear. He gave Wolfram his name back, his identity, then, much to the dismay of the court, named Wolfram as champion -- an act unheard of given the werewolf’s half-breed status. The truth is muddled at best, likely to change by degrees by virtue of who is telling the story. Those that are (fortunate enough?) to be embraced between the lion and the wolf during an intimate encounter are, perhaps, among the few that have any hope of understanding the dynamic that drives Wolfram and Amaranth’s relationship. Â
