He was raised by a single mother whom he loves very very much. She’s his whole world. His father walked out on her when he was only 6 months to pursue an acting career. He does not have any relationship with his father.
His name means “heaven and sky” because when he was born his mother thought that he was a little piece of heaven that fell from the sky and into her arms.
Haneul is a professional dancer. He lives and breathes dancing.
He started dancing around the age of 6 and started off as solely ballet, but he also dabbles in jazz, hip-hop, and interpretive dancing.
He studied dance in Seoul before being scouted in Los Angeles during a competition.
He moved from Busan to Santa Monica, CA at the age of 17. However, he spent summers with his aunt Ji-Woo and his cousin Baek-Hyun in the United States to learn English.
While his hair is naturally dark, he prefers to keep it light between sandy blonde and light brown. He says it brings out his complexion...and he’s not wrong.
