For Chadwick’s birthday, I’m accepting short requests all day tomorrow (11/29). Request anything! Just remember these are shorts, not long form fics. The day will culminate in a one-shot.
I just wanna celebrate him the best way I can tomorrow. Also, feel free to submit your favorite pictures!
You can start requesting now. I’ll post them as I complete them throughout the day. You guys stay beautiful.
The Imagine below was requested by @iliketowrite1996 and I’m low key mad that I didn’t think of this idea myself lol 😂I hope you enjoy it 😁
Summary: Could I request a Chadwick one where he's keeping the relationship secret to protect you from the media but it's making you insecure?
You sat on the couch in the hotel room that you and Chadwick were sharing, watching everyone bustling around trying to get Chad ready.
Today was the day of the 2018 Met Gala, and after the massive success of Black Panther, Chadwick’s attendance was almost mandatory. As for you, on the other hand, you were sat in a pair of cut off jean shorts, an old jersey of Chad’s and flip flops with your hair in a messy ponytail.
You’ve had many of these nights before. Watching him get ready, kissing him for good luck before he leaves, watching the livestreams of the red carpet since you weren’t there, and stalking his hashtag on Instagram and Twitter.
However, it never bothered you as much as it is today. And you knew why but you refused to acknowledge the idea. If you acknowledged it, that would mean it’s actually true.
“Hey,” you heard a voice whisper and you looked to your right to see Chad, squatting next to the couch and looking over your face. “You ok?” You glanced around the room and saw that everyone else had left, leaving you two alone.
“Yeah,” you nodded slowly and he cocked his eyebrow.
“No, I know you. You had your thinking face on,” he chuckles. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
“I just,” you start to say but instead trail off, sighing heavily. You take a deep breath before trying again. “I’m tired of always watching you get ready for these glamorous events and I can never go.”
Chadwick closed his eyes because he knew that’s what had been bothering you but he also didn’t feel like having this conversation again. You two never fought much but this topic had been a source of tension for a couple weeks now.
“Babe, you know why that’s not a good idea. We agreed that we would keep our relationship between us and our loved ones so that we could continue to be us, without the outside bullshit.”
“I know that’s what we agreed on, but I didn’t think it would bother me this much.”
He sighed and stood up straight. He walked over to the large mirror in the room and started to straighten out his suit. “Well, I know it’s hard but we have to do this.”
The way he so flippantly brushed you, and your feelings, aside pissed you off so you stood up and stomped over to him.
“What’s the real reason that you don’t want anyone to know about us? Don’t want your other girls to find out?” You accused.
If looks could kill, you’d be dead right now girl. He closes his eyes and takes several deep breaths before slowly opening his eyes again.
“Don’t you ever say something as dumb as that to me ever again,” he stated in a low voice that made you quiver. However, you were still pissed so you were going to let him know.
“I mean, there has to be something to this that you aren’t telling me. Is it me? Am I not good enough to be around your famous friends?” You rambled.
“Baby, baby,” he turned to you and put his hands on your shoulders, making you freeze. “How could you even think something like that? You’re an amazing woman. How could I ever be ashamed of you?”
“You just, you never want to take me out in public and if you do, it’s like a CIA classified secret. I just don’t know,” you shrug your shoulders and wipe away the tears that you hadn’t even realized were falling.
“I’m doing this to protect you. The media, especially paparazzi, are generally not good people so I want to keep you safe. Baby, they will say things about me, you, and our relationship just to make a quick buck. Not to mention these fans.” He rubs your cheek and looks into your eyes.
“I’m so sorry babe. I had no idea that this was making you insecure,” he said as he pulled you into a hug. You wanted to protest against him calling you insecure but you knew it was true. “I guess me trying to protect you, turned into me actually being the one who hurt you.”
“Chad, you were coming from a good place. The execution just sucked,” you chuckled and he joined you. You pulled away from the hug to look at him.
“You know that I love you right? I’m never going to leave you for anyone else because there is no one else out there for me. You’re it.”
You smiled widely and crashed your lips onto his. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling your body closer to his. His hands trailed down to your ass, squeezing tightly. This made you moan and you hitched one of your legs up on his hip.
The sudden knock on the door scared the both of you and your lips disconnected. Chad sighed heavily and rested his forehead against yours.
“I have to go baby,” he told you and you shook your head like a little kid. He chuckled at your eagerness. “I don’t want to, trust me, but I have to.”
“Mm, alright,” you relented, taking your leg from his hip. You released the grip you had on him and helped him straighten out his suit again. Once you finished, he walked over to the door but turned back to you once his hand was on the handle.
“Hey,” he said, making you look up at him. “You know how I have the commencement address to give at Howard?”
“Yeah. What about it?”
“Be my date?” He asked, biting his lip and you giggled while nodding your head.
I hope you enjoyed this love! And for anyone else, my requests are open! 💗
Hey, just wanted to ask, have you ever thought of making a ChadxCoco where they go to a lingerie shop? I thought that would be a funny/sexy story. Just wanted to throw that idea out there.
Hey! I haven’t actually. That’d be a cute one shot. Thanks for the idea. I’ll save it in my to-do.
“just make sure you’ve eaten.” I can see Coco saying that to Aaron but you can do someone else if it’s still too painful🖤 have a great day.
“You have your vitamins?”
“Check.”
“All your chargers?”
“Yes ma’am.”
“A picture of me in your wallet?”
Chadwick stopped in his tracks and smiled as he plunged a hand into the pocket of his sweatpants. Fishing around for a bit produced his beaten up leather wallet.
“Circa 2002. My favorite and oldest photo of my favorite lady.”
Tasha smiled bashfully from her spot in the center of the bed, “Seems like you’re all set for the long flight. Take pictures of Indonesia for me. We need new art on the walls, too, so send some stuff back.”
“You’re not gonna tell me to take it easy,” Chadwick asked as he pulled his wife to her feet for an embrace. She kissed his chin and then his lips before shaking her head.
“You wouldn’t listen anyway. You’re all gas, no breaks.”
“I’ll try to be better for you.”
“Mhmm,” she hummed against his lips. “Just make sure you’ve eaten a solid meal everyday. Don’t force yourself into stunts either. I need you back to me in one piece.”
“Yes ma’am. Anything else?”
Tasha shook her head and pressed another kiss to Chadwick’s lips. “I love you.”
What if Chadwick, while playing with baby Micah or Noah, got baby puke all over?😂😂
“Introducing...BABY FALCON!”
Holding Noah over his head, Chadwick made whooshing noises while the baby giggled. This was their favorite part of the evening. After dinner, while Tasha and Micah busied themselves with nighttime routines, the boys had ample time and space to play.
Instead of dancing to the numbers song, they opted for Baby Avenger with Noah starring as chubbier Falcon.
“Cap, on your left,” Chadwick voiced as he flew Noah past Tasha on the couch.
“I wouldn’t shake him up like that if I were you.”
“Good thing you aren’t meeee!”
Continuing to read her book, Tasha rolled her eyes at her husband’s childishness. He’d learn for himself.
After a full trip around the living room and a surprise appearance from Little Okoye, Chadwick flopped onto the ottoman with Noah over his head.
“That’s my big man. Can you say, Daddy?” Noah let off a string of babbling noises in response. “No no, say ‘Da-Da.”
Noah’s mouth opened to begin another attempt at mimicking his dad but a hiccup interrupted his progress. Tasha’s eyes flashed upward the moment one hiccup turned into a burp and cough.
“Aaron, he-”
Her warning was a beat too late. Before he could sit up, Chadwick felt the warmth of recently consumed breast milk splash across his chin and neck. His surprise manifested into a short scream that startled Noah and made him cry in response.
“Oh no, buddy! Daddy’s sorry.” Tasha’s arm extended to retrieve Noah for comfort. “I know. He shook you up like a soda and got mad when you burst. He should’ve listened to Mommy, huh?”
“Don’t start.”
“Let me hear the room say it. Say, Daddy should’ve listened to Mommy.”
“Daddy should’ve listened to Mommy,” Micah exclaimed.
“Daddy should’ve listened to Mommy.” Tasha smiles behind Noah after distorting her voice to answer for the baby. “Your turn, Dad!”
With the smell of baby’s breath and milk beginning to make him nauseas, Chadwick relented.
“I’m gonna regret this but, Daddy should’ve listened to Mommy.”
“See, that wasn’t so hard! You got a little...on your chin. Right there.”
A wide smile spread across CoCo’s face as she watched Chadwick shake his head. From the look in he eyes, she would never let him live this down.
Please? Could you make an imagine thats about how work gets Chadwick? Like, as a full time actor, he must be exhausted having to be reading all the time, interviews, projects... and a full time father as well. So, that being said... what if Chadwick lashed out at Micah? I know that’ll never really happen... but what if he did? What if he lashed out at his firstborn and made her not cry... SOB?
A soft huff escaped from Chadwick's nostrils as he tossed his cell phone on the desk in front of him. The pressures of work were attacking him from all angles and he was finally at his wit’s end. If the email he received from his writing partner didn't;t set him off, the text message with the unfortunate news that he'd have to return to Atlanta for a third round of reshoots was the nail in his proverbial coffin.
While he angrily tapped at the keys on his computer in an attempt to write away his frustrations, Micah's giggling in the hallway drew closer. Soon, she was peddling her way into the downstairs office on her hot pink tricycle.
"Daddy, look! I'm riding a bike."
"Mhmm," he grunted, not bothering to look up from his iMac screen.
Sensing that his attention was elsewhere, Micah used her legs to scoot closer to the desk and peer over the edge.
"Whatcha' doin'?"
"Work."
"What kinda work? The dress-up kind or the boring kind?"
"The kind that means that you need to go find your mama until I'm done. Bye."
"But I wanna be with you."
When Chadwick heard the slight quiver in his daughter's voice, he looked up to find her round eyes staring back at him. Though much of her face was hidden below the edge of the desk's surface, he could tell Micah was frowning by the slight furrow in her brown.
Sighing, he rolled away from his desk and motioned her over. "Alright. Come on over here and sit down."
Micah squealed her excitement before running around the desk to jump into her father's lap. As always, having her in the room made him smile through his tough moment as he kissed her forehead.
"I need you to stay still and quiet while I work, okay?"
"Okay! I promise I'll be the best helper ever."
For much of their time together, Micah was the perfect companion. While she busied herself with “office helper work”, Chadwick continued to cross items off of his to-do list. But, instead of feeling the relief of accomplishment, he grew more frustrated. Every email conversation or new set of information opened the door for anger to settle into his body.
“Micah, stay still,” he requested when he felt his daughter wiggle to the point of shaking his body. Her movements stalled for a moment, but ramped up a second time, adding to the mountain of things bothering Chadwick. “Noelle, stop it!”
When he glanced over to see what had Micah so riled up, he couldn’t contain the anger boiling inside of him. Every paper scattered across his desk was now bound together with copious amounts of clear tape. Further exacerbating the situation, the papers she’d unleashed her crafting abilities on were drafts of a script that he was manually revising. There was no option to request the PDF version of the document. He’d have to wait another week for a new copy to arrive in the mail if the current version couldn’t be saved.
Before he could process what was happening, he shot up from the chair and planted Micah on her feet.
“Micah, get out! Why did you do that!”
The corners of her mouth began to droop, “I was trying to put them back together for you and help.”
“You didn’t! Go in there with your mama and don’t come back!”
The volume of his tirade grabbed Tasha’s attention, leading her to round the corner into the office the second Micah’s breakdown started.
Both parents stood frozen as Micah’s whimpers turned into a full-on sob. She stood frozen in place, making her hurt known to anyone within earshot.
“Are you serious right now,” Tasha questioned as she took long strides toward Micah. “What is your problem?”
“Tasha, I didn’t mean to-”
“Nuh uh.” Chadwick’s attempts to explain fell on deaf ears once CoCo made the decision to ignore him and transition into “mommy mode”.
While she worked to calm the distraught child, he stood there experiencing the moment outside of himself. He didn’t understand how he had allowed stress to make him lash out at one of the most precious people in his life. And, though he knew the issue wasn’t beyond repair, he couldn’t imagine the kind of lasting impression he’d left in Micah’s impressionable mind.
He stewed in guilt well into the night, choosing to remain in the office to avoid the wrath of his wife. Tasha paid a visit as midnight approached to drop off a stack of papers with more attitude than he’d seen in a long while.
“Here. The tape came right off because she’s a child and can’t do that much damage.” The thick files hit the desk with a loud smack followed by a death glare from Tasha.
“Just say what you’re gonna say, baby,” Chadwick sighed as he ran his hands down his face. “I’m sorry.”
“No, you don’t get to apologize to me and make it all better. That’s not how this works.”
“I know. You’re right.”
“Stop trying to make me be quiet! I’m not stupid!” Chadwick knew that his intentions were to show that he understood where he went wrong, not to undermine CoCo. But, he also knew that any further attempts to speak while she was upset would only incense her. So, he quietly sat back in his chair to prepare for the verbal storm.
“Look, I know that work has you stressed. I never want to overlook the amount of effort it takes to do what you do. But, I will not allow you to take that anger and spew it toward our child. Send that shit to them, not her! She is four. So what she taped some papers together? Was that worth the way you made her feel by shouting in her face like she’s some random on the street?”
Chadwick watched his wife rant for several minutes while he silently thanked God he had a partner that was hellbent on advocating for their child, even if he was the offending party.
Midway through her speech, he stood and attempted to grab her hand.
“Absolutely not,” she responded as she drew back and created space between them. “You may not touch me or sleep in our room until you apologize to the person whose feelings you hurt. Her bedtime has passed so you’ll have to figure something out for here and now. There is a spare bedroom and blankets in the linen closet in case you decide to devote more time to work. Ya know, since it has you acting a damn fool. Good luck.”
Knowing that the backlash would be severe still didn’t prepare Chadwick for a total shut out. Long after hearing CoCo dramatically shut the door, he quietly transitioned to the upstairs guest bedroom to contemplate his next move before bed. To apologize for such uncharacteristic and unwarranted behavior, he would need to think completely outside of the box.
A/N: A request by @queenbutterfly2018. Thank you for keeping my creative juices flowing. Even if it does take me 7000 years to finish things.
Summary: The family bonds over Beyonce and a classic movie.
The Love Tonight (2)
"And I just can't waaaiit...to be KING!"
CoCo silently bopped her head from side to side in the kitchen as she split her attention between washing the dishes and her kids enjoying the third showing of The Lion King in as many weeks.
Noah let out a small squeal of excitement followed by a laugh that caught Micah's attention.
"No, Noey! We don't laugh during this part. It's really serious!" When the youngest of the pair responded with a gurgling babble, Micah let out an agitated groan before continuing her explanation. "Simba could get hurt. He didn't listen to his daddy, and now the heenas are looking for him. That's why we have to listen to Mommy and Daddy."
"Good lesson, baby girl," Tasha called from the kitchen, adding a wink to her praise when Micah turned around to acknowledge her mother.
From the moment she could focus on moving images, Micah became enamored with Simba's timeless tale. Her big eyes would sparkle when she would hear the movie's main theme, the song often doubling as the only sound to keep her quiet when she was restless.
When she was three, Micah insisted that she would not participate in Halloween festivities if she could not dress as Nala. Her first eating utensil set, big girl underwear, and bed set featured the beloved characters. Even as she found other interests, The Lion King was her first love.
"Mommy, your favorite song is coming! You gotta sing it!"
Micah wiggled around in her seat while Tasha took a break from cleaning to join her on the couch. Pulling the little one into her lap, CoCo cleared her throat to mimic Scar.
"I know that your powers of retention are as wet as a warthog's backside. But thick as you are–pay attention! My words are a matter of pride."
Noah perked up as Micah joined the song, becoming the third voice in a chorus of off-key voices. Together they fumbled over lyrics and laughed until their stomachs were sore and the song was over.
After a moment of silence to catch their breath, Micah broke the silence. "I wish Daddy was here to sing too. He likes to sing the Simba and Nala song with you."
"I know, baby, I know. But Daddy has to be at work."
"Work is mean! Tell him to come home and play!"
"Dadadada." Noah's chanted, adding his two cents in the conversation to make both ladies giggle.
"How about we call Daddy so you two can say all of this to his face. How does that sound, Pookie Butt?"
Cheering and made up songs bounced off of the living room walls before echoing on the other side of the phone when Chadwick finally answered.
"Sounds like I'm missing out on a party back home," he laughed.
Across the country, the sun had long allowed the moon to have its place in the sky. Chadwick sat in his dimly lit bedroom clad in worn lounge clothes with sleep forcing his eyes half-closed.
"You sure are. We're watching your favorite movie. Wanna take a guess?"
"Whaaat? Where's my girl? She wouldn't watch The Lion King without me, would she?"
"I only watched a little! Not even the pig song!"
"You didn't get to...should I sing it," he questioned, already knowing the answer.
"Yes! Sing it!"
"Nah, it's time for bed. Mama wouldn't be happy if I did."
Chadwick put on an award-winning acting performance to sway Micah's opinion before she turned to make a case for why she deserved a song from her favorite singing partner.
While Micah squealed in pleasure, CoCo made sure to give her husband the finger as discreetly as possible.
"You can do that for as long as you like when I get back, love," he assured with a wink.
"Sing it, Daddy! One, two, three!"
Straighten in his seat, Chadwick took a deep breath and comically poked his chest out. "WHEN I WAS A YOUNG WARTHOOOG!"
Before her daddy could finish the most boisterous line in the entire film, Micah doubled over and laughed until her whole body vibrated with joy. Even Noah joined in on the laughter despite nodding in and out of sleep in his walker.
"Sing it again," Micah requested between gasps for air. "Sing it again!"
"Nuh-uh. It's time for you and another cub to get to bed. Maybe we can sing it in the morning when you're on the way to camp. How's that sound?"
"You promise?"
"Double pinky promise, baby girl. First thing in the morning."
Though visibly upset, Micah accepted the terms of the deal. "Okay. Goodnight, Daddy. I wish you could come home tomorrow."
"I wish I could too, little one. See you in a few weeks. Be good for your Mama and be nice to your brother."
Another round of goodnights sealed the deal, sending Micah off to her room to wait on Tasha to tuck her into bed. Chadwick followed her movements as far he could until she was out of camera view. His sad eyes betrayed the smile on his face and caught his wife's attention.
"I know it's tough, baby, but she understands why you're away. She's just missing you tonight."
"Doesn't stop me from feeling like the worst dad ever. Now I have to make it up to her."
"Please, do not send another doll to this house or I will burn it. Send a Birkin instead!" The line on Chadwick's end went silent as he froze and stared. "Hello? Can you hear me? Is this thing frozen?"
"It ain't frozen. I'm just givin' you a minute to hear what craziness you just said to me."
"So I don't deserve a bag?"
"You deserve a bag so much that you have a shelf in the closet to stock with as many as you can buy."
Tasha opened her mouth to respond but found herself interrupted by the sound of toys hitting the hardwood floors close to her. After quickly assessing the situation, neither of them could withhold their laughter. Noah sat slumped in walker with thumb in his mouth to self soothe, deep into a dream that had him smiling with his eyes closed.
Finally calming down, Chadwick allowed a yawn to slip past his lips. "Alright, baby, I have to be on set early tomorrow."
"Goodnight, handsome. Sleep well, and don't send any more gifts to this house."
"You don't tell me what to do, T. Bye!"
There was no time for Tasha to protest any of her husband's statements as he ended the call abruptly. In the weeks that followed, he would vaguely hint at a surprise when talking to or about Micah. When pressed for further intel, Chadwick would smirk as if he were hiding the most interesting secret in the world, the twinkle in his eye brighter than any star in the sky.
CoCo began to suspect the true nature of the surprise when she received confirmations for two booked nail appointments and a separate dress fitting. Questioning the keeper of secrets proved to be futile until he returned from work at the tail end of a busy weekday night.
Micah met him at the edge of the driveway with unbridled excitement, waiting for him to step out of the car and scoop her body into his arms. Once the house was calm and sharing a meal around the dinner table, Chadwick pulled an envelope out of his pocket and quietly sat it on the table.
Taking a look up while chewing her food, Tasha eyed the package. "Is that a check for me?"
"No."
"Plane tickets?"
"Tickets, but not for a plane."
"Is it a letter from the Tooth Fairy," Micah inquired. "Because I lost my front teeths. Mommy found them and said the Tooth Fairy would give me monies, but that was a long time ago. I think she forgot."
"She spent the money on dance lessons," Tasha mumbled.
Chadwick cut his eyes at CoCo who mouthed 'what' in response. "Anyway...remember when we told you there was gonna be a new Lion King, Mikey?"
"Yeah! You said we could see it if I read a whole book by myself. Are we gonna see it?"
"We're gonna do more than see it, baby girl. We are going to…" Chadwick paused for dramatic effect, waiting for a drumroll that Tasha reluctantly provided.
He listened to her rapidly tap her fingers against the glossy wood grain tabletop. Soon, Micah joined the spectacle, leading the charge for Noah to slam his hands against the tray of his high chair. Chadwick's grin spread across his face as the tension and noise in the room built to deafening levels.
"Aaron! Spit it out, darn it," Tasha hollered, careful to censor her language.
"Okay, okay! We're going to...the premiere!"
For weeks, Chadwick had played this moment in his head countless times, and each encounter ended with the members of his family singing his praises and running around the house in excitement. Instead, they met him with two blank stares and senseless babbling.
"What's a...a...premiere? I want popcorn."
"Chad, she's six. Explain why a premiere is better than just going to the theater on Cheap Tuesday. I would also like an explanation."
As Micah looked between her mother's sarcastic smile and her father's eye roll, she found herself still very confused. She'd only been on a few red carpets in her short lifetime, and none of them involved a brand new movie. It was unreasonable to expect a child to enjoy the bright lights associated with such an event, much less an entire movie without any outbursts or excessive moving. Chadwick hoped that an introduction through the Lion King would be an adequate test run for future instances.
"A premiere," he started as he lifted Micah out of her chair and into his lap. "Is when special people get all dressed up to see a movie before everyone else. All the people that are in the movie are there too."
"So I get to see the movie with Timon and Pumbaa?"
"Well, kind of. You'll meet the actors that play them."
Micah thought for a moment. "Are these big people that play dress up like you?"
"Sure... let's go with that."
"Is Mommy and Noah gonna come with us?"
"Just Mom. Noah's still too little. But we'll get the DVD when it comes out, and then he can see it at home." From the corner of his eye, Chadwick could see Tasha giving him a thumbs up for his attempt at explaining such a complicated matter to a child. Micah, however, still had questions.
"I guess I'll go," she shrugged. "Do I get a new dress?"
"My girl asks the important questions! That's what I'm talking about!"
Laughing, he shooed his wife away to answer the question. "You drive a hard bargain, Princess. Yes, you and Mommy get new dresses."
"Yay! I want sparkles on my dress! Wait, I want it to look like mommy's dress. What is your dress gonna look like Mommy? Big and poofy like a princess?"
"Girl, I think we should-" CoCo halted her rand and dramatically covered her mouth to whisper-speak to Micah. "I think we should go to another room because somebody is a little too nosey. Meet me in your room."
Her dramatic wink was excitedly returned before Micah focused her attention on dashing out of the dining room and up the stairs. When she was out of earshot, Chadwick turned to his wife and smiled.
"Make sure you go easy on my pockets."
Standing, Tasha quickly adjusted Noah on her hip and pretended to flip her hair. "Sparkles are expensive, baby. We'll try our best. You just make sure you can keep up."
If Micah ever asked Chadwick “Daddy, what’s an o... o- umm... orgas? Orgasm?” 😩🤣
“An orgasm is when...” Chadwick looked from his daughter’s curious eyes to Tasha who was frozen in place at the stove. “Help me explain, Mommy.”
“It’s um, it’s for Mommy’s and Daddy’s!”
“You can only get one if you’re married and in love.”
“And sometimes you don’t get them then unless you try really hard.”
Chadwick cut his eyes, “Anyway. After you hug your husband or wife for a long time, you feel all tingly. Like when you have to sneeze and finally get it out.”
“And you feel happy when you’re done,” Micah asked.
“Yes! You feel very happy and sleepy.”
Micah sat for a moment and considered the information. “Well, I don’t wanna be sleepy. That’s boring.”
“Exactly. Wait until you’re old to be sleepy.”
Chadwick and Tasha watched their first born shrug away the topic at hand and go back to coloring with relief. If they’d known parenting would have grow these types of curveballs, maybe they’d have held off on an orgasm or two.
