Troubled thoughts / Overthinking
I've recently been struggling with my thoughts and I'd like to share with our followers my advice on this common human struggle. :)
four words: change your thinking habits
Often times we'll be going about our day and we suddenly feel a tugging in our mind, a strange sadness. Then we begin to think that there is something wrong with us or the things in our life and we continue to go on, dwelling this thought. We start coming up with conclusions and reasons for these thoughts and it just keeps going on, eating at us.
What we don't think about is what we're thinking about. Think about what you're thinking about! A lot of the times it's complete nonsense or crazy scenarios in our heads that we've created without even realizing it!
You can't be genuinely happy if your mind is cloudy and full of negativity. All the pessimist thinking often causes troubles for us in our relationships, prevents us from enjoying things that we enjoy, getting things done, going on in our daily lives, etc.
I've recently looked into and studied my thinking habits and realized that I've developed a tendency to come up with something negative, completely dishonest things, and not only dwell on them but believe them. I've also recently started to recognize the untrueness in these thoughts that i've come up with and i stop them before dwelling on too much. I go over what I just thought, tell myself what's real, and throw the thought away. It's that easy. :)
I feel that a lot of people struggle with their thought lives and that makes me sad because we often miss out on simple happiness! Thoughts are just thoughts really, we can rid of them as fast as we can think of them. They're nothing, just something we create with our amazing brains. So instead of thinking about negative things/nonexistent things start thinking about your loved ones, the wonderful things in life, summer plans, anything that makes you happy :)
I hope that this post helped anyone struggling, if not I apologize but this is my effective way of getting control of my thoughts. And if I did help, i am so glad :)
