I see you have Ljubljana. Good. It's pretty and very affordable. No knowledge of Slovene is needed except for talking to some elderly folk or reading some types of advertisements. English and German will be more than enough to get around. I recommend a nice healthy hike to the castle (but you can take an vzpenjača -- I literally do not know the English word for it but it's like ski lift you stand in with no skis and no snow?) If you decide to go, I have better tips.

I also recommend Koper and Piran. The Jewish community in Slovenia is super tiny, but they're based in Ljubljana.
