Man I cought up with the Gachiakuta manga again. Wtf. Huh. Insane plot twist. Enjin beening rudos older sub ^2 thanks to the dad connection. Peak literature.

Also enjin whole back story is lowk trans coded. Hear me out. Running away from home. Changing his name to something that actually makes sense for who he is. Found family with other different from the majority people.The fashion. You can't look me in the eyes after seeing that short sleeve button up + baggy pants + long sleeve + backwards cap and say that ain't trans man fashion. This tattoos (and nails, earrings). The fuckass but somehow still responsible adult aura.

Uuuggghhh the about of gender envy I have for that man. I need his coat. His build. His confidence. Ive been planing to get tattoos in the same places he has them ( and similar is visuals - ornamental/tribal Idk what u call it when it's cool swirly design allover with meaning n forms u can see on closer inspection)

GACHIAKUTA CHAPTER 165 RAMBLES BUT

😭

i already knew he was going to have a sad backstory but enjin being a victim of child trafficking and possibly experimentation AND AT THE HANDS OF HIS OWN FUCKING PARENTS and then subsequently BLAMING HIMSELF FOR IT really hit home and is just so devastating 😭 it really gives insight into him being the way he is but FUCK DUDE.

me and an oomf were talking and aside from the obvious empathy he probably developed, i think this is why he's been branded the "stray collector" and why in particular he helped each member of team akuta. riyo's emotional despondency, zanka's depression and self loathing, and rudo's anger at the world—all of these are just parts he recognizes in himself....he is COLLECTING PIECES OF HIMSELF and trying to right what he views as his wrongs through caring for team akuta and other struggling kids.

(i also think there's an interesting conversation to be had about the juxtaposition between him and amo's experiences and their modern interactions but i'll get into that another day)
