Don’t Feed It; It Will Come Back || ??? || Chapter 6: START
Dead silence surrounded the remaining five students in the trial room for what seemed to be an eternity. Though, would anyone really blame each other? The same damn routine was happening, day in, day out, nonstop. Motive, murder, mystery, execution, rinse, wash, repeat. It was a sickening tribulation that the students have lived up to for what was probably a couple of months, but felt like several years passing by ever so slowly. The madness was never ending.
There was an intense debate as always, one that could have potentially caused rifts of distrust and despondency between the remaining students. In the end, however, the tragedy was that they couldn’t save another life amongst the few they had left, despite the courageous attempt. After all, Yoon had only recently died, before another one of their own had done the same. Unfairly so, even. It was safe to say that Moriko didn’t deserve the fate that was bestowed upon her. If her execution was randomized in such a way when it wasn’t any of their wrongdoings...What more were they supposed to do? It only seemed like the treacherous cycle would seem to continue, until only one stood. Then, the path to hell changed--
--and suddenly, Ariadne was gone. The tall, faux teacher that everyone had grown to either fear or hate was demolished by the very robotic devices that her and Amora had controlled. What had...just happened? An air of disbelief and shock filled the air, as the silence between the students only seemed to thicken the tense atmosphere. One of their captors was gone; one of the AIs that had been destructive and immensely damaging to their health was gone for good. At the same time however, what good would it have brought to bringing the Rock Painter back to life? What good would it have done to sew back the loose threads hanging in the relationships that were bound to have been damaged?
If someone were to drop a needle, the little ding would probably echo through the trial room.
…
A noise signaled from the entrance after quite some time, and the elevator doors open slowly. A pair of sounds that was dreaded, yet long awaited. Who would want to stay in a room like this? The funeral grounds for many innocent (and not so innocent lives) being taken before the students’ very eyes. Questions remained as they stared amongst one another. Would there be yet another floor to go to, as per usual? What was going to happen now? Would Amora come back? What could they do in order to get out of here at long last?
So many inquiries left so many answers, waiting to answered. However, turning around would only cause bubbling anger to return to a certain few individuals. Perhaps, even everyone in the trial room. After all, no one would want the worst possibility to come alive. After all, no one wanted to experience the horrible memories resurfacing in their minds again. After all, no one would want to see a murderer standing in front of them again.
The next words that Alastair speaks, however, seem like the best course of action right now.
“Get in.”
There had been a notable struggle to keep peace over the last few nights. Understandably so, considering the circumstances. Nobody had really attempted anything, per se. Well, some did get hammered out of their minds. That was just how it be on this bitch of an earth. Nobody bothered to go outside, the new area was a tad daunting, considering the stressful situation, not to mention the potential for someone to snap and murder again because of it.
Silence stung in the air. The wait this time was longer than you were comfortable with. A full day, maybe more. Dominique had healed up, but they weren’t particularly in shape to be altering the light sources. That made it hard to feel time flow. The rumblings of the castle were constant, and eventually, you attuned yourself to simply drowning them out. They weren’t going away soon.

Well Shit. Another two classmates down and the true loneliness and emptiness of the theater really settled in. And Cydai just made everyone slightly more uncomfortable.
But… This trial was certainly something. Betrayal and confusion was prominent across the whole duration and maybe it was that which made the outcome that much more painful.

After the execution, the platform ascended, depositing the students in the main square of Kaiyou again. Kumi was there, blinking languidly at everyone, before they gave you a few choice words.
“You’re reaching closer by the minute. Don’t give up.”
And with that, your keycards beeped, giving you new maps.
