☀️ INTERLUDE : She Deserves A Soft Life
She don’t owe anyone her peace. Not Zion. Not the past. Not the silence that followed her out of that brunch.
Today? Joy Lawson is focusing on the one that really matters
She’s been through hell and showed up anyway.
Edges slicked. Tank top tied tight. Lashes fluttering, but holding strong.
No ring. No man. No mess. Just her. On her feet. In her light.
Cassie squeals under rainbow plastic. Taps on everything with sticky fingers. Pretends she’s a forest fairy.
Joy stands still, arms folded, eyes soft.
“Mommy look I can reach it” “Keep trying baby, you almost got it”
Joy laughed watching Cassie try her hardest to reach the top of the tree.
Water splashes. A tiny duck floats by, half drowned in child chaos. Cassie beams.
“Mama, ducky swimmin’!” “Keep swimming baby ducky.”
Joy dips her fingers in the water. Lets the cool water sting. Lets herself feel here.
No calls. No “we need to talk.” Just sunscreen, curls everywhere, a girl who never learned to take a break finally taking one.
It felt good to genuinely laugh. . Unfiltered and full of life.
