Hellcat was one of the most experienced fighters that Matt had ever heard of. Although he had not personally worked with her in some time, and even when he had it had been more like fighting alongside someone rather than collaborating with him, he knew enough from the brief snippets that he had heard on the streets, or on occasions small pieces of her fights that he could hear from the rooftops. By the time he got to the place where she had been battling against criminals and gang members he found they were on the ground unconscious and she was nowhere to be found, and there was something to be said for someone who managed to make Matt smirk without even saying two words to him. Now, it seemed, they were on the same team, and Matt was more than eager to get started on working with her.
A good place to start, it seemed, was in Fogwell’s. Knowing what the other people on your team were capable of was one thing, but being able to integrate tactics and approaches with each other was the difference between defeat and victory. Add into that Matt’s insane curiosity, and he figured it was basically a given where they would end up. After running through a few warm-ups himself he considered putting a scarf around his head to hide his face, but teams were built on trust. When Hellcat walked into the gym, Matt Murdock was standing there, though he still felt as if he was wearing the mask.
“I’m guessing you’ve boxed before, right?” Matt asked, a small smile on his face. He stepped forward, holding out his hand. Was that too formal? “Matt Murdock,” he said. “I have a confession to make. I’m not really one for teams. Actually, this is my first time, technically. Got any pointers?”
