Keegan Anderson grew up in New Haven with his father Cane Anderson. His mother died when he was born due to complications with the birth. His father blamed him relentlessly while growing up and learned to despise his only child. Not only did he despise Keegan for killing his wife and the only light in his life, he despised him for also knowing what he would become. Keegan was very unaware of what his mother was or the history of witches down his family line. It wouldn’t be until he left for college he discovered what he truly was and the secrets which lied in New Haven.

While in college, Keegan turned to alcohol to cope with the psychological damage that his father had caused him in his adolescent years. He kept his drinking habits mostly to himself unless you were to hang around him long enough to know his true struggles with it. With him being a witch and being gay, he was a total disappointment to his father. His father wanted nothing to do with him. Even though they live in the same town, they no longer speak to each other.

After his time in college, he became a psychologist. He wanted to understand why humans or seemingly humans were the way they were. He wanted to understand the mind on deeper levels. He eventually opened up his own private practice in town when he moved back to New Haven to have what hoped to be for him a new start. He doesn’t open up to everyone but perhaps New Haven will give him the comfort he so desperately yearns for.

Elizabeth Nyx Shadon X Erudite X 19

Background:

Elizabeth Nyx Shadon, Effy to those who have gotten to know her, was born to a pair of Erudite leaders. Her mother was a doctor and her father a researcher, each striving to help the community to the best of their ability in their own fields. When Elizabeth came along they barely missed a beat, trading off caring from her with each other and a nanny. Truthfully it was a standard childhood for an Erudite child. She went to daycare, was picked up by her nanny who supplemented her daycare education with books and facts and anything to keep her mind growing.

When she was five her life derailed though. Her mother was killed by a Factionless party during a trip to volunteer among the Abnegation. Elizabeth never quite understood what her mother was doing volunteering...it didn't make sense. It wasn't something their faction was supposed to do. They were Erudite. They cared for the sick and researched and above all else hunted to rule out the things that society didn't know. But as she grew older she realized that caring for the sick meant those with Faction and those without. She never made full peace with her mother's death but like all else she put it aside.

From the age of five on she spent more time with her nanny, not because her father wanted to shove her away but rather because even during his grieving period he was slowly rising through the ranks of Erudite leaders. He couldn't take on the slack of parenting that his wife had dropped by dying. When it was time for her to go to regular school Elizabeth had a hard time adjusting for this reason.

But again, as Erudite children are often taught, she put away the loss of her nanny as she grew up and out grew her need for supervision. She wasn't a robot by any means but she knew better than to complain. Her life progressed normally until her sixteenth birthday.

Her aptitude test was inconclusive but there were only two factions that she could possibly end up in, Dauntless or Erudite. She knew why she had an aptitude for Dauntless. It wasn't the thrill seeking or the death wish or the inner psychopath that was begging to be unleashed. It was power and rage and vengeance, things that Elizabeth was always certain to keep bottled up.

She tossed and turned all night before her choosing ceremony, finally getting out of bed and spending the night on the roof, deep in thought. As she stood before the bowls in the choosing ceremony she was sure that she would give in and choose Dauntless. However she reigned in that impulse, slit her palm and let the blood fall into the water that would symbolize Erudite.

Though she has wondered from time to time what Dauntless initiation would have been like she has never regretted her decision on that day. Since the choosing ceremony she's risen in Erudite rankings, completing her initiation project which placed her at the top of her class and heading up numerous others that lead to her being named as a low level leader. On occasion she fills in for one of her colleagues supervising a project or teaching a class and on occasion preforming basic medical duties though only rarely.

Appearance:

Effy is short. Weighing in at something around 150 lbs. she spreads that weight along bones that have seen fit to only allow her to reach 5' 3". What she lacks in height she makes up for in hair, which is too impractical to constantly keep in a bun, piercing brown eyes, and full lips. She may not be the skinniest or the tallest thing out there but she does pack a punch with her brains.

Personality:

Most would mistake Effy for an ice queen but the fact is that one could have all the brains in the world but it would mean nothing to Erudite if they couldn't divorce themselves from their emotions. The iciness that runs through her veins is not psychopathic, like some that may be found in Dauntless, but rather control and calculation. She thinks before she acts but she also chooses not to act often, unsure of herself or her motives. That isn't to say that Elizabeth is constantly in control either. Pushed to far she could snap and lash out in a rage, losing complete control of her impulses and giving herself to blind fury. One might call it a rage issue.

Family:

Father, Mr. Tyler Shadon. Their relationship is as close as one can be with a father who is a leader in a faction that values knowledge and research. Effy is unsure if, given the choice, he would choose to save her or his research should they both be in danger. She isn't sure herself what she should hope for....in her selfish moments she admits to herself that even if it would be at the cost of important data she hopes that it would be herself.

◌Background:

Sadiki was born into a world of privilege when her mother had a tryst while on an extended “vacation”, a trip to a very posh psych ward to help her manage her bipolar tendencies. Despite the fear that she was unable to bring the child home with her to the “loving husband” who would divorce her faster than a lion can pounce on its prey she did brave the consequences and Mr. Sierro loved the child because though he felt betrayed by his wife he knew that Sadiki’s existence was not her own fault. Children are innocent.

Being the daughter of the head of a powerful company lead Sadiki down the path of private schools where she excelled grade wise but failed horribly socially. Her father always doted on her though, attended every choir recital or art show or spelling bee. Told her bed time stories and made sure that her summers were filled with fun and enrichment while her winter’s were filled with snowmen and ice skating and tons of gifts.

It drove her mother mad with jealousy. So Sadiki was sent off to boarding school where she continued to excel in classes but what had been merely social inaptitude in the mind of a child quickly grew into a slew of anxiety disorders.

Sadiki felt betrayed and alone. Her social anxieties intensified as she went off her meds and spent a year drowning in her fears. When they finally fixed her back up she was still a bit of a nervous little thing but those nerves were drowned by the new power she found within herself. The manipulation she had subconsciously used on her through her childhood came to the front and she began to rule over the other students as a…shadow queen. She didn’t want popularity just the power, just the assurance that no one would throw her out again. There were small incidents….boys to high in their power who had to be dispatched either by expulsion or fear, girls too silly to be of use as friends yet to powerful to be of use as toys…they had to go to.

Despite her new found throne the betrayal that she had felt at being dumped in boarding school, the one that had twisted into hate for her mother only deepened when her mother visited her one day to tell her that because of her faults in school she would be forced to stay the summer to get perfect A’s. It doesn’t seem like much of an explosion inducing event but you’ve probably never been to boarding school. It can be a little…intense….and drive you a little…insane.

Sadiki‘s father divorced her mother and Sadiki never saw her again. She returned home and finished out her schooling, going on to attend college where she majored in art. Though she became a successful illustrator and freelance artist she moved back in with her father for a time and became a teacher, enjoying the innocence of her students.

Now a year into her part time teaching gig at a private high school Sadiki has moved out of her father’s house and been maintaining the perfect exterior of gifted art teacher who lives all alone but has strong family ties.

No one, not even the person she’s closest to in this world, suspects that Sadiki has carried her manipulative behavior over into her adult life. That she had jumped into the world of being a Dominatrix the second it walked her way.

◌Personality:

Sadiki is a double edged sword. She's not violent but very manipulative, and cold and cruel. She enjoys playing with people and even the other side of her personality where she's nice and friendly feeds the darker side. That said, she's also reasonable. She knows that there's a time and place for anything and is genuinely nice to certain people, those she loves, her students, you get the idea. But hell would rain on anyone who dared to cross her or owe her an kind of a debt that she was forced to collect on.
