DEMON AU CONCEPTS FOR RIAIN AND SLATE

These concepts are more inspired by media and story concepts of Heaven and Hell

Riain was at one point an Angel- one who had more of a domain over insects primarily, but had a love for children and their own desires to be a parent. Of course, this was highly atypical and generally something they were told was unnatural. God or creatures made on Earth were the only one that’s were allowed to actively make things. There were worries that Riain would present themselves eventually to be one of those that disobeyed Heaven’s rules, but for a long while they went about their duties and kept quiet.

Eventually, Riain got tired of the concept of eternity without desires being met, and with having to have hand or observe the cruelties allowed by Heaven. One of the biggest one being the children sent to Limbo / Hell simply for dying too early. Eventually, they spoke out and even managed to act out against the rules of Heaven and were therefore sentenced to Hell.

Whether this happened right before their exile or right after, Riain did manage to have a child. This being Slate.

While Riain may have memories of being an angel (i’m undecided if he keeps these or had them removed), Slate is completely unaware of his Angelic blood. Slate is raised believing and fully accepting the fact he is a hell-born demon- that both of them are, and neither were human before and especially not anything else.

Riain manages to stake claim over becoming a Kingpin / crime boss of some degree, but his more prominent ‘career’ is still shows. Instead of being hidden Red Room streams like in canon however, these are live television broadcasts of him tormenting other demons in hell. The shows themselves are a huge hit more than likely. 

Slate, on the other hand, has a little crew of his own that he hangs around with and generally causes mayhem with. He really has no interest or concerns with a career path or even land claiming at this point, and is equally uncaring about wandering into areas claimed by others. Probably with mixed results.

Riain is generally insectoid, with centipedes being the largest aspect of his physique. He still remains a domain over insects, perhaps even more exclusively.

Slate, on the other hand, is still sheep like but perhaps with some insectoid properties- more than likely spider if so. He has a domain of plants.

‘The lover of the unwanted’- one reason Slate receives a following despite no longer having an interest in such things as cults (there is a debate on whether they were actually interested in that stuff at all in the past too) is because they have became a sort of patron without promoting it. Slate, to put it simply, will take those which are unwanted. One of the biggest examples and primary reasons is they will take children and babies that cannot or will not be taken care of. They harbor no hate towards those that bring them what they cannot take care of for one way or another- rather they do that then just abandon them in woods to be killed. There are ways to get in contact with them, but more than likely they will appear if necessary. Those given to them will be changed into a ‘shoat’, but are free to return to whatever species they were before if they chose to later.
