EISHI HONETANI // BONES
骨谷影嗣 // Honetani Eishi
Based on the Pokemaniac trainer class! Visually meant to be reminiscent of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokemaniac specifically.
The concept of him being Robin's rival came from my friends and I joking about Robin having a rival based on a Pokemaniac. While the name Crow didn't stick around, the idea of a rivalry definitely did.
Eishi's personality is based on chuunibyou, AKA that one middle-schooler cringe era we all go through one way or another. You know the one. It's okay. We were cringe but we were free.
The reason he's picked Robin specifically to be his rival and sworn enemy is because he saw Robin and immediately recognized that he was pulling off the cool, dark, and mysterious persona better than him. This town ain't big enough for the both of us, chump!
He's freakishly tall compared to the rest of the class, currently deep in the trenches of an early puberty.
Eishi claims to be a force of darkness and evil because he personally finds villains more cool and interesting than the hero, and thus believes everyone else does too.
At the end of the day, his eccentricities and outbursts are because he's seeking attention and acknowledgement from his peers. Unfortunately, it is these traits that often drive people away.
That's part of why he's grown kind of attached to Fang after the WTT, because being forced to spend time outside of class together makes him believe they're closer than they actually are.
He has a very loving and doting mother who's just a wonderful ray of sunshine. Like, she's "makes his lunch every morning and cuts his peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches into hearts" levels of sweet. He's at that phase where he thinks it's embarrassing. "Mooooooom! Stooooopppp you're embarrassing me in front of everyone..."
I love him because he's so silly and cringefail <3

BUSUKO KIBAYAMA // FANG
牙山毒子 // Kibayama Busuko
Based on the Biker trainer class in Gen 1! Visually, however, I took more inspiration from the Roughneck designs.
Has a bit of a troubled home life. One of her parents used to work for Team Rocket and has since been arrested. The other parent was deemed unfit to care for her, so she's fallen into the custody of her older sister, who has only been a legal adult for a few years and is currently struggling to make ends meet. Her older sister is trying her best, but she can only do so much while juggling multiple jobs to put food on the table, so she isn't home often or for very long.
Because of this, she finds incredible value in the few friends she's managed to acquire and has come to view them as a second family. This group of friends would of course become the Sludge Bomb Sluggers. She's absolutely ride-or-die for them, fiercely loyal in a way that's arguably stronger than the loyalty of the Rat Pack.
She rides her bike to get away from home when it's empty, which is more often than not.
Part of what informs her character is the reversal of the "loud and brash biker gang leader" trope. Rather than being crass and hotheaded, she's cold and calculating, speaking in a polite and refined manner and choosing just the right words to strike you where it hurts.
She looks up to her sister's boyfriend's younger brother, who has kind of become a role model for her since he is the most prevalent older figurel in her life right now. She's adopted the "delinquent punk" aesthetic from him. She's honestly thrilled to finally be in the same school as him... at least until next year. The boy in question, Habu Oushiro, is currently Rank 6 in the Battle Club.

gonna hafta do these two together since they're not as fleshed out as the others yet...
Both are based off of the Biker trainer class, same as Busuko! While I don't have any concept art to give you an idea of visual inspiration, I can tell you that I have these two sprites as placeholder/inspiration art in my docs! I do also have this idea where Deiko's (Slop) hair droops over his eyes to be visually reminiscent of Grimer slime!
These two are ride-or-die, both for the gang as a whole and just for each other. They're dumb and dumber. Beavis and Butthead. A prime example of two guys that share only one brain cell. You can't help but love 'em.
They love scheming and enacting dubious acts of mischief. On their own, they only get up to some minor harmless stuff, mostly. But when combined with Busuko's brains, they suddenly become a force to be reckoned with.
Okay, jokes aside, they're not as dumb as I'm making them out to be. They may not be the brightest bulbs in the bunch, but they have incredible teamwork, and that's part of what makes them a scary pair to go up against in battle. Their synergy as a duo is off the fucking charts— they hardly need to speak to one another to get the hint of what the other is planning.
They both love biking, which is how they were able to first bond with Busuko, who also loves riding her bike.
❛ is there a reasons you are here on your own ? ❜ for McCoy?
"Well now, didn't know i needed t' tell everyone where 'm goin' for a shore leave." The drink against his hand felt warm by the time Spock found him, mostly flavoring the taste, almost cradling it. Guess that happens when you're too stressed and needed a bourbon or two to sink it down your throat, and maybe because this was his fifth one just now and he was getting tipsy or more than likely drunk.
"But since you're so hell-bent on not leavin' up for myself, how 'bout y' join me instead??"
“Now hold on a bit, miss. First off, ‘m not dressed up as anythin’.” after all, the clothes he was wearing was a giveaway, not that Mccoy blamed them for the curiosity, “Secondly, I just need t’find a place... Well, tha’ has a good reception.” Maybe that way he can contact with the Enterprise or so he hoped.
