Endless list of Torchwood characters I’d have loved to see/hear/read more about: Charles Gaskell
He appeared in the short story The Baby Farmers, and for like 30 seconds in Exit Wounds (see above), but apart from that?? Nothing, niente. And I’d kind of really would’ve liked to know a little more about his adventures at TW3; especially how he handled Alice & Emily on a daily basis. Bc honestly? I wouldn’t call them entirely heartless but... surely a little Difficult.
Look here, at Alice laughing in Jack’s face when he tries to tell her he desperately needs her help but can’t give explanations. No sympathy for him at all - though then again, when has she ever had those? But Charles is listening, he might not yet be sure whether he really believes Jack but he’s... he treating him like a human being in need. Not like a freak who’ll bounce back from anything anyway, so why worry right????
[gosh sometimes i have like 5 mins of thinking ‘actually alice & emily a p cool and then i remember how they treated jack, and how they kept treating him.... and i just. can’t forgive that. (and he surely hadn’t been the only one.)]
... Anyway, this post was supposed to be about Charles. So, did any of you guys read The Baby Farmers? What do you guys think of him??
