Personal Headcanon: ellyn was one of the older kids when he came to them -- already 11. his mother was a witch, but his father was a hunter. she’d done a good job hiding from the man, but not good enough. her coven didn’t think they could keep him safe from his father, so they called some connections to see who could.

Personal Headcanon: her birth mom handled the vampirism thing even worse than she did and kicked ari out when it happened. ari was homeless for about a year when viv heard rumors of a vampire in a nearby town. when she got there, she found a kid and she took her to chase. they aren’t exactly the most well-suited for a vampire, but ari liked that there weren’t any vampires in the house and refused to go somewhere where there was.

Personal Headcanon: roz did school without ruby for a year before deciding she’d rather be home with her.
roz is two years older than ruby
their shared parent is their dad, but he died. roz’s mom had passed long before that, so they were mostly raised by ruby’s mom until they were eight and six and hunters killed her, too.
they escaped and vivian ended up finding them.
they would not be separated even a little bit, so vivian brought them both to august and chase.
vivian was... unreasonably amused that roz shares the same name as chase’s mom. he was less amused.
