Being rescued from the chocolate shop had been a bittersweet occasion. On one hand, Gio was ecstatic to be out of the dank and damaged building but on the other he was devastated to see the rest of the village look the way it did. He’d wanted to immediately jump in and help but even with being a guard they forced him back to the tea room with everyone else. He didn’t stop protesting until he’d walked in and spotted a familiar face across the room, relief flooding his system as he beelined towards his best friend, his sister.
The whole time he’d been trapped in the chocolate shop he’d refused to let his mind wander to the girl. He would have worried himself sick if he had so he had made sure to busy himself with helping the group find supplies and stay alive long enough for people to find them. But when that relief washed over him it was pretty apparent she had been in the back of his mind the whole time, a fact also made apparent as he silently pulled her into his arms and held her tight. “Are you okay?”
