“Hey,” he said, walking up to the woman. “Sorry if this caused any inconvenience.” Jack looked over as one of the other CSI people took down the police tape. “Someone called in saying they thought something had happened, but it looks like it’s just someone making a harmless mess.” A harmless mess meaning someone had spilled an abhorrent amount of fake blood on the sidewalk. He didn’t know why or how and part of him didn’t want to know. But after about twenty seconds on the scene, it became clear that nothing had actually happened. And since there was only one person who they seemed to be in the way of, he had no problem going over to explain it to her. “Hope this didn’t put a stall on your day.”
